Keeping on

Monday was a mostly quiet day. I did some laundry, made an apple crisp and organized supper.  I can while away a whole day doing a little of this and that and it never shows.

This afghan was finished, it is a very pale blue with some flecks of white and green, it is crocheted with a 5.5 hook in a shell stitch.  It goes into the afghan stash.

Sunday night Far Guy and I watched The Road on CBS.  It is a reality show that features songwriters/singers.  There were 12 beginning contestants.  Why watch you say?  I like reality shows for one and for another reason Forrest McCurren is one of the contestants.  Forrest is married to my baby brothers bride's niece Margaret. My baby brother and his bride often travel to Southern Minnesota and Wisconsin to see Forest and Margaret preform (Margaret plays the violin and the drums). It will be fun to watch Forrest compete...I like his music...for me he is like Bob Dylan but easier to understand.

Minnesota weather: High was 48F or 9C and the low was 37F or 3C.

Supper was spaghetti one of Far Guy's favorites.  His weight is holding steady at 130.  He is thin.

  1. Your high is lower than our low. Brrr. FG is still quite thin.
The connection to the show is what makes it interesting. I hope Forrest wins.

  2. Glad to hear FG is not continuing to lose weight. He sure needs to gain some, though. Sending good vibes and prayers.

  3. Although I know they are somewhat scripted and heavily edited, I too am partial to reality shows when I do watch television.

  5. How wonderful to have someone you know to cheer on. Good luck to Forrest.
Oof, now I wish I weighed 130...that's over 20 years ago. But I wouldn't want to lose it as Far Guy has. I do hope he is able to gain especially with his favourite foods.

  7. I like some reality shows but not a lot. Will have to check out the Road. Geez, it's colder where you are! But. I am sure it is headed my way.

  8. I will have to see if I get that show- I like reality shows too- our tv provider is Amazon Fire Stick and I am not sure we get CBS.
Keeping you two in my prayers,

  9. The Road sounds like a show we would like....but we don't get CBS - frowny face! I love that you have a connection to a contestant. That makes it so much more fun. Now, I can say, "a blog friend's baby brother's bride's niece is married to Forrest!" That's a mouthful! Did I get it right?!

  10. They would definitely make it more interesting if you knew someone in a contest.
Glad FarGuy sounds like he is eating better again. I hope he can put on some weight now.
    Lovely afghan. :)

  11. I wondered about "The Road", but I am not a fan of reality shows. That's a cool connection you have though to this one.

  12. Far Guy needs a little more winter padding. But it's good that he has an appetite again and no more weight is dropping. How fun to be able to watch someone you know compete!! I recorded that show but forgot to watch it yet.
