News

Well..it is not the news we hoped for.

Stage 4 adenocarcinoma in the left chest, with lymph node that is also cancerous.  We cannot attempt chemo because the hearts ejection fraction is 47% and it should be 50% or above. Plan b is hormone therapy taken as pills daily. The Dr will see him every two weeks and he will have blood work and pet scans from time to time. If the tumor responds and shrinks then he will have surgery. If it does not shrink we will have to revisit the plan a of chemotherapy…which may cause death.

We are sad and discouraged, it will take some time for everything to sink in. Thank you for all the prayers.

  5. I am so sorry for the disheartening news. I have prayed and prayed but I don't think I have much clout. It sounds like there are options though and your doctor seems to be vigilant. I think that rainbow is a good sign! Hugs to all of you.

  7. I am looking at the rainbow which is a promise of a better tomorrow. We are going to pray that the hormone therapy does it's job and take one step at a time. (hugs)

  10. Oh no! Goodness! How do they determine the hearts ejection fraction? Never heard of that before. I have to ask if they suggested immunotherapy at all? Thoughts and prayers sounds so meager in my ears, but you will be there, regardless. *love and hugs*

    1. He had a Mughal test which is a stress electrocardiogram that measures your heart health. Right now hormone therapy is our only option.

  13. My heart goes out to you both. I know the heartbreak of losing family members to cancer. The only grace is that it gives time to accept the inevitable and to cherish each moment together. May God's peace enfold you both.
