Slowing down

Another busy day on Thursday, the last of the appointments and a grocery run.  Laundry and some house work and I was done for the day.

I reached my stop sign about 3PM and headed for the couch and slept and dreamed for almost three hours.   Freezer was for supper...Far Guy chose Spaghetti and I made some nachos for myself and fruit.  Watered tomatoes and flowers after supper and folded the last load of laundry.  It will be an early night.

Friday all I have on my list is to cook up eggs and potatoes for potato salad for a gathering on Saturday.

Uffdah. I wish I had someone else to cook around here! I really dislike preparing meals or even planning meals.

I know, I am terrible. If a well balanced meal would appear when I sat down to eat...I'd be happy.

Sounds like you have a fun event to go to!

The heat takes it right out of me and I just want to sit and read or watch TV. :-)

Yum - homemade potato salad! That's something I haven't actually made in years, as my husband won't eat anything with mayonnaise in it, and it's difficult to make it in really small batches. But the deli in the store closest to me makes excellent potato salad so I still get to enjoy it.

I think you were exhausted. Enjoy the quiet day and your gathering tomorrow.

I like to boil eggs in the instant pot. The shells just slide off. 5 min. On high. 5 min. Let steam release. Finish letting stem out and put eggs in cold water. It’s easy Peasy. Look it up for better explanation of it.

We've been grilling our dinners lately. I prep inside and he grills outside. Says he doesn't mind the heat while doing that, just comes back in between "flips" or stirs of whatever.
I have been getting a lot more time for reading during this heat.

Glad your appointments are all done and you had time for a nice nap. With my sore back right now, I can't comfortably lay down anywhere....so sit in a chair and put an ice pack on my back.....sometimes I manage a short sleep like that. Smart idea some nights .... fix your own suppers. Rest up and take good care.

Hitting the wall during the summer is easy. I have better days than others but I mostly only work until noon. My mind wants to do more but it just isn't going to happen.
