It is about time, not sure if it was the snow, the below zero temperatures or turning the calendar to December...but I finally figured out this years Christmas card. Usually by this time of year I have mailed them out. I missed going to Craft Retreat this Fall as that is usually a project I work on while I am there.
Anyways...I made the final decisions on what I am doing. I want it to look like an old Christmas Postcard. I have that vintage paper that I ripped to size last September and it has been sitting on my desk...waiting.
So...I completed 10 cards yesterday...at this rate I will be done by mid December.
The cards are stamped and signed on one side and watercolored on the vintage paper on the other side. The stamped side is all done...120 of them.
in this photo is the old Volcan sad iron on top of a small plastic box that is holding down the ten completed cards to keep them flat, my glue bottle upside down to make it easier for me to grab and my stack of card backs.
Nice to have that deer visit you!
ReplyDeleteYup I see the deer! I am still trying to get in the mood to do Christmas stuff, but I think it will happen this week.
ReplyDeleteI got the house cleaned and stuff moved...so at least one thing may happen!
I see a deer looking at the beautiful blue glass in your window. :)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your watercolouring!
I looked and looked and never saw her. Failing eyesight, I guess.
ReplyDeleteLook straight down from the white dove:)
DeleteI saw her. I think she’s ate the bird feeder dry. Those cards are a big endeavor. They’ll brighten lots of lives.
ReplyDeleteI do see her! The blue in that glass is stunning. You have some work ahead of you.
ReplyDeleteYes, I see her in the snow.
ReplyDeleteIt's always a treat to look out your window and see wildlife. Unless it's a bear...
ReplyDeleteJust a heads up, if you were planning to send cards to Canada... don't. There is a postal strike going on, of course they pick Christmas to go on strike to apply as much pressure for a speedy resolution as possible.
I didn't see her either.
ReplyDeleteI imagine you're pretty focused on making those cards now. Have fun. GM
Oh wow...I see it!! a beautiful deer... Such a beautiful view . You do have a lot of watercoloring to get done, but I know you will have it done in a short time. Sounds like it will be gorgeous card.
ReplyDeleteYes I saw her, how cool is it that you can be working at your desk and look up and see a deer.
ReplyDeleteI love that old iron! I use a big old dictionary when I need to weight something down. I do the same thing with my glue so it's always ready to go. Good for you with the cards! Mine are not here yet. I saw her. Isn't that called "photo bombing"? LOL!
ReplyDeleteProbably wanting a treat from your bird feeder--lol!
ReplyDeleteSounds like quite a card project. You do more than twice as many as I do. Wow! That's a lot of work. I am always glad to get my card from you. :)
Yes, I do see her. I think I am impressed that you will be scrambling a bit in December, like most of us, instead of being all done. :-)
ReplyDeleteYou probably heard that our postal workers are on strike here in Canada. I have all my cards written and stamped and still plan to get them into the system as soon as they clear this mess up.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful girl and I love all of your cobalt glass too. The cards will be beautiful whenever you get them out. I have caught up on all of your posts this week.
ReplyDeleteYour day with the grands and greats sounds wonderful. Our kids were here for too short a time. For Thanksgiving I made...Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, green bean casserole, relish tray, cranberries. My sister brought pies, niece brough rolls and Mandy made sweet potatoes. Dennis and I lugged all of the food to Mandy and Brads and we ate way too much of it. I managed to catch something on Tuesday and woke up to no voice and a sore throat Wednesday and still have both. I can't get into my dr. and was hoping to wait it out since the covid test was negative, but it's been a week and no better. I'm hoping to wake up miraculously better tomorrow so I don't have to go to the walk in clinic.
Take care.
Blessings,
Betsy
Yes! Love your blue glass.
ReplyDeleteLD....I am still waiting to have my eye surgeries but I did finally see the deer. It does look hungry.
ReplyDeleteI bet the cards will be beautiful. I did see her.
