a little snow

It warmed up enough to gift us with some very fine snow on top of the ice.

Thank goodness for my other baby brother, he brought over a load of sand with his skid-steer and covered the wide icy path to the garage.  Now the new snow covers the sand but at least it is not a treacherous path anymore.

The snow is so tiny it is hard to see in the photos.  We are headed into the deep freeze for a couple of days now.

I am making lists and checking them multiple times.  Plus the normal laundry, cleaning and all the other fun stuff around here.

Pain: Is somewhat less at times, but still there.

Christmas card report:  12 more on the final dry time so the total is now 107.  I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and hope it is not a train coming.

  1. Sigh, you just have to take it one day at a time because we can't do it any other way. I was hoping to hear that you'd had significant relief by now.
You have a lot of Christmas cards made! Wow!

  2. I think you’ll make the card quota in time. This alone is a Christmas miracle!

  3. I too, try to get all the laundry done, dishes washed, dishwasher ran, extra chicken water stocked (just in case) when a freeze it about to happen.

  4. You are getting the cold we're experiencing now. -27C (-17F) this morning, and we dip as low as -35C (-31F) tonight. I'll be happy when the temps start warming up again on Friday.

  5. I'm guessing that once the big snow comes, y'all pretty much have snow all the time throughout the Winter? I love seeing the white snow, but I know it can be dangerous with Ice under it. Stay warm and be safe getting out. thank goodness for baby brothers...

  6. We woke to a light covering of snow yesterday morning, maybe 1/2 inch. Then it snowed again about noon - and then very quickly it all melted. And last evening we got a skiff of snow again. This morning we're in the same deep freeze as you. But we have much more brown showing than white. Brown winters are not my favorite.

  7. No trains! No trains! You've had enough of them. I'm so glad your other baby brother helped out with the sand. Ice is awful. We were supposed to get a dusting last night but it didn't arrive which I'm grateful for because it's my turn to drive to the ladies Bible study this morning and most of the drive is on the open interstate.
    Blessings and hugs,
    Betsy

  9. We woke up to ice when the temps dropped. I am so glad I don't drive two towns away for work anymore! It wasn't much, melted as the gray sun came up. But winter is here for sure. Temps tomorrow are -4 at the bus stop. I was hoping for better results from the new med.

  10. You are funny - - - you hope the light at the end of the tunnel is not a train coming! I have not heard that in decades!
I am in list making mode for special flour ingredients for my bread machine that arrived yesterday so I can make my own gluten free bread. It hopefully can't be worse than what is on the shelves at the stores. Schar isn't too bad if you microwave it with the meat and cheese inside but nothing is as good as whole wheat - - - - except for how it makes you feel.
I am proud of you and your accomplishments in spite of your body not being a happy camper all the time.

  11. We have about the same amount of snow here in E.Ontario. My arthritis is screaming today. Several in my group are complaining about severe headaches. The devilish weather is playing havoc with us as it changes course.

  12. Rain or melting with snow on top is a recipe for disaster.

  13. I'm off to the city in a minute to get a hearing test. Then I'm done with appointments until I get bombarded in January. Hoping snow stays away here. Cookie baking has started and the Christmas lettern is drafted. Marching along here too.

  14. Wow, almost through the tunnel! I keep hoping I will find a comment saying the pain has greatly diminished...

  16. What a time for weather. We are going to have the snow on tip of ice. I worked my butt off today on the driveway. It's didn't go well! Hah!

  17. That darn freezing drizzle before the snow makes it just awful out there! Glad you got some sanding done.
You are getting so close to being done with your cards--wow!
Sounds like very slow improvements on the pain. That's great to hear. May it continue. :)

  18. In recent years we've sent fewer and fewer Christmas cards and this year, of course, with the strike. we send none. I think it's 8 weeks now since we got any mail. Good thing I opened the mailbox ( no idea why) and found that the UPS guy had shoved a parcel in there. Don't know exactly when. GM

  19. LD....We had a snow and I just didn't clear it. I can see most people didn't as it is too little to bother. I saw tracks of people and dogs that didn't need me to clear anything. Extremely cold and couldn't dress warm ehough.
