The first puzzle has been completed. We will most likely do many puzzles before the winter is over.
The game room downstairs is the perfect place to puzzle with a large table and eight chairs. We are in between puzzles for a couple of days as the household ( two teachers and one student) are in finals week and fairly busy and a puzzle is distracting for them as they like to puzzle with us.
We got three Christmas Cards in the mail yesterday from a high school friend, old neighbors and someone who has known Far Guy since he was a baby. They all bring us Joy!
Far Side
Puzzles and holiday cards... Sounds wonderful!
ReplyDeleteGood luck to everyone on their finals.
Congratulations on finishing the puzzle. Good for the brain, good for the eyes!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic family space! I really enjoy puzzles and would do them if I had a place I could leave them out until finished. Rolling/folding them up etc just isn't appealing. I've tried. I am super uber impressed by your daughters use of space and love that you are all sharing it together! The way families should be. You know the saying, a family that plays together stays together <3
ReplyDeleteI have many fond memories of putting puzzles together with my grandmother and great grandmother. But my wife comes from a family that didn't have money for such things and her non-stop nature doesn't allow her to sit still long enough to put a puzzle together and so my kids have pretty much grown up without doing many puzzles.
ReplyDeleteI have some puzzles waiting too - for after Christmas. It isn't practical to have puzzle pieces on any surface with 5 kids in the house. So flat surface is safe. LOL
ReplyDeleteI didn't send out any cards this year and don't expect I'll receive any either. I started a Christmas letter but have yet to finish it...maybe after New Years. We'll see.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy doing jigsaw puzzles too, but don't have the space for them at the moment. My son's work computer is on the kitchen table and I have my small table set up for crafting. Maybe it's time to clear both off!
How fun to be able to do puzzles as a family. I'm not much into puzzles, but Dennis does enjoy them. Good luck to the teachers and student this week.
ReplyDeleteI love Christmas cards! It's so much fun to see the beautiful pictures and read about what is happening in our friends and families lives. I really like Christmas letters although I know some people don't.
Have a wonderful Wednesday!
Blessings,
Betsy
I have not worked a puzzle in years. That is a nice one that was finished. My card is being sent by dog sled apparently.
ReplyDeleteHaving a table specifically for puzzles is great. In my classroom, a round table in the corner was for puzzles. The students enjoyed working on it when they had downtime, and the custodians worked on it during their evening breaks.
ReplyDeleteI love puzzles, too. I have a gorgeous tea cup puzzle that I have half completed at least twice, if not three times. Unfortunately it is the hobby of some of my little people to disassemble it. I might try again after Christmas. I will not give up!
ReplyDeleteI don't have the patience or eye for puzzles, one bof my daughters use to do them
ReplyDeleteWow! What a great puzzle space.
ReplyDeleteChristmas is coming so fast!
Joy is deeper than happiness,I think. ❤️
ReplyDeleteIt's getting dark -4:00- and time to turn on the outside lights and walk out to check the mailbox. Maybe there will be cards!
ReplyDeleteSo glad your JOY is filling up!
Congratulations on getting that first puzzle done. Wow! I am not a fan but enjoy seeing the finished product. :-)
ReplyDeleteJoy to each of you, from us!
ReplyDeleteLove your Christmas cards and the game room! What fun you are having doing puzzles. That's great! We have big storms coming through tonight....praying that all will be well and that we won't lose power. Time will tell! Such strange weather!
ReplyDeleteNicely done, we used to do puzzles as a family. My mom still does. I don't as we simply don't have any room at all for it!
ReplyDeleteLove it.
I'd love to set out a puzzle. Hubby's got so much taken up with his train set, though!
ReplyDeleteFirst puzzle done yeah! We have someone close by who does puzzles and then frames them ~
ReplyDeleteI love puzzles and what a nice place to be able to work on them.
