A few decorations

Jen and Andy put up their Christmas tree during the blizzard on Sunday.  I helped to fluff the branches and we all put on a few ornaments.   The ornaments are familiar enough that it all seemed like home.

Very cold here yesterday with a wind chill of -25....brrrrr.

Mitten ornaments from 1991.   Far Guy and I don't have this ornament so it was fun to see!  We apparently skipped making ourselves an ornament that year.

  4. Brrrr! A good idea to stay in and decorate the tree! It is 27 degrees here today, but the weather forecast for Saturday is 63. We shall see.

  7. Definitely a good idea to decorate while the snow is falling. I'm sure there were many ornaments that brought back memories.

  8. What a cute ornament. I know for me, each year as I hang my ornament collection I enjoy the memories of who gave it to me or where I bought it. It was really cold here yesterday - only 9 degrees when I left Sioux Falls last night after my grandson's concert. And we woke to a dusting of white stuff - not sure what that is. LOL

  10. Brrr for sure! I can remember what that feels like and am SO glad I don't have to cope with it now since I have a hard enough time keeping warm. I'm told that our damp weather make prairie people feel colder than their minuses so that may be true.

  12. That’s a brutal wind chill! The wind has been howling all week - blowing semis over, closing roads, and brining in cold temperatures. I think Winter is here to stay.

  15. That is too cold. New traditions are good rather than not tradition. As long as your so cozy and warm you have a great deal. This is the first year that any family will see our Christmas trees in person since we moved here. Unless we have a storm the grandkids will be here after three years.

    Memory ornaments are the best.

  19. Brrrr~ It was not that cold here at all. Looks like we may have our first snowstorm coming on Friday!
    Yipee!
This reminds me to find the small colorful mittens that I still use as decorations to remind me of my Grandmother who made them.
Glad you are not out trying to shovel in this.

  20. Whoa, that's COLD!!! We are cold too, but nothing like that. And they say by the weekend we'll be in the 50s. Amazingly weird weather. Thank you again for the ornament. I love it! Hope you got the little card I sent you!

  21. Whew! Winter is there for sure. We are putting up our tree today, although we did enjoy it last night with lights only. I think the best part though is the smell. Too bad that only lasts a couple days.
