Years ago Far Guy planted a Lilac, a Trillium and some Phlox.
The late blooming Lilac is beginning to bloom.
It has a number of blooms…finally. Most years we are lucky to get one or two blooms.
The Trillium turned color before I could get a photo.
Some of the Phlox subulata survived the winter.
We got some rain over the weekend, and the day time temperatures are in the 70’s…just about perfect!
I always enjoy the flower report from you. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI love your yard reports! Yesterday was my veggie garden day. I got it in! along with a spiral of Sunflowers and groups of Zinnias and other assorted flowers.
ReplyDeleteThe Lilac is one of my favorite flowers. My bush this year nearly bloomed. Lucky for me there are a lot of them in my neighborhood. Thank you for the yard report - I enjoy these reports.
ReplyDeleteOur lilacs have come and gone already, so it was nice to see your late bloomers. :-)
ReplyDeleteLilac will grow, but not bloom here and I love it.
ReplyDeleteI always love seeing your yard! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteLovely. . .my lilac always blooms in early June and has nearly pink blooms.
ReplyDeleteI stick with some of the slower plants just like Far Guy.
ReplyDeleteLove lilacs! The weather has been gorgeous for days. Heading back into the 80s again this week, though, but fairly cool at night. Lovely weather. Your yard is looking good. :)
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are wakening up from a long winter, they will like it
ReplyDeletewhen it gets up in the 80 better.
My Phlox subulata didn't make it through the winter this year. It began growing too early then we had a severe frost and it gave up.
ReplyDeleteLilacs are one of my absolutely favorite flowers. And the purple ones are the best! We also had some rain over the weekend and temperatures have been in the upper 60s and low 70s yesterday and today. I’m loving it. Blessings, Betsy
ReplyDeleteOh such lovely photos
ReplyDeleteDon't you just love Trilliums? Both it and our lilac bush outdid themselves this year.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers.
ReplyDeleteMethinks maybe your close to Zone three?
ReplyDeleteI remember in the past, we would arrive at Grand Rapids and the lilacs were blooming in middle June. I guess I am not going to plant one at the new place. We are not having nice weather. It is too hot, all of the time. Our last nights storm gave us an inch and a half of rain.
