We had a few visitors.
Good to finally see a bunny. Chance did not chase the bunny, I told him no and he listened.
Far Guy saw a tiny fawn out on the back driveway.
This might be the mama, she visits our wildflowers over the septic system every night.
She is very brave and will come into the wildflowers when we are sitting outside….she is probably really hungry if she has a fawn that is nursing. I did not plant any sunflowers this year…the deer ate them all last year. Far Guy sprinkled some seeds out there. When I walk through looking for Poison Ivy I saw Daisies and Violas in bloom.
I mowed the lawn again…it seems to grow overnight.
Busy week coming up.
I think we could mow every day! But my husband will probably wait until a nice bright cheery day to work on the yard. IF he'd let me use his machine I'd be out there going like guns! I used to push mow the whole thing. Not any more!
ReplyDeleteI think I said this before, I have mules and Dexter cattle that sort of wrap around the areas I like to plant flowers and veggies. The deer avoid the mules for sure.
I do watch the deer wander up through the field above where my neighbor's planted their garden!
I also found a fawn sleeping 3 days in a row in the same spot while hiking. That was pretty darned neat!
Love your wildlife pictures. We have one bunny that sits next to our house and greets ,y hubby when he leaves for work. Also have a few chipmunks, but there is also a feral cat around which keeps those little guys in check.
ReplyDeleteI do like your wildlife pictures. Another blogging friend posted pictures of foxes in their neighborhood. It's lovely that they are all still finding enough to eat. I suspect Mama Deer is hungry all right! :-)
ReplyDeleteTwo things that I missed seeing every day when I moved into town over 20 years ago: the mountains and the wildlife.i still miss them.
ReplyDeleteI love the critter visitors!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I don't have to mow the lawn here. With the drizzly rain, a few thunderstorms, and some sun it is longer than usual! They usually come by on Mondays so I should see them this afternoon. :)
Looks idyllic!
ReplyDeletePoor hungry Mama deer. Too bad she doesn't like to eat Poison Ivy.
ReplyDeleteSo nice to see wild life but not eating your flowers.
ReplyDeleteI saw some poison oak when I was taking photos the other day.
Some wildlife gets used to us and prospers while other species can't cope and disappear.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous wildlife photos. You are blessed to be able to appreciate their beauty every day. Thanks for sharing them with us. We’re mowing again this evening. Everything is growing so fast right now.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy
Such nice shots
ReplyDeleteIt's so fun to see the wildlife!
ReplyDeleteThe deer are lovely, but I'm glad my garden is not feeding any. The squirrels, raccoons, possums, crows, and an occasional coyote are plenty of wildlife for me. The songbirds are most welcome here.
ReplyDeleteI see deer each time that I drive to the farm. We had couple of rabbits but the great white hunter took out one in his own yard while we were gone. His wife says he eats the deer that he shoots but she doesn’t.
ReplyDeleteThat must have been a superb amount of restraint Chance exercised when you told him "no." That rabbit surely must have been irresistible!
