Peony

My Peony is in bloom.  It resides in the middle of a wild raspberry patch.

I have one dark pink plant and the one next to it is white which is still in bud. The white flower heads are usually so heavy that they bloom and face downward.

I know some people may have peony bushes covered in blooms…me not so much…I am happy with one bloom.

These plants came from Jo a long time ago…I think she got them from Vern.

  1. My favorite old-fashioned Minnesota garden flower. I can't figure out why everyone isn't wearing peony perfume. That scent! It's the best.

  3. I love the dark color of this peony. My grandparents used to have crow of peonies across the back yard. Always fascinated me when the ants would help the buds open.

  5. Peonies are elegant flowers. Sadly, they have already peaked in this area, and the blooms are looking bedraggled.

  8. Peonies are one of the first flowers I remember from childhood. My mother had eight bushes of them and I adore the smell. Yours are very pretty. Blessings, Betsy

  9. Our peonies finished blooming a few weeks ago. My grandson, Steve, and I always look for them around his birthday, May 20. They bloomed about a week earlier this year. I have dark red, pink, and white. They bloom in a sequence...red, then pink, then white.

  10. Peonies are so special. My one plant that actually blooms anymore had about ten blooms. It was so pretty. Now it is almost all faded.
