Spring has sprung

Far Guy put away his winter boots…mine are still out.  He carried out the patio table and commenced to woodcarving outside.

We were down at the lake over the weekend.

pussy willows

The pussy willows are out.

Straight lake

We wonder if the ice will be off the lake for opening fishing.  Time will tell.

Yesterday the last of the snow left the farmers fields.  Soon we can watch for the first of the wildflowers…Marsh Marigolds.

  2. I found marsh marigolds here a month ago but then it got so cold that they quit! I saw them ready to bloom again on Sunday when I was down by the Big Spring! I love exploring all of the plants that come up after the snow disappears!

  3. I actually saw some Daffodils and Crocus flowers blooming yesterday. Sure made me happy. Far Guy putting out the patio table is also a sure sign of Spring.

  4. Sounds like Spring is well on its way. Yesterday, in the Miami Valley, I saw buds beginning to open on the Large-flowered Trilllium. (Trillium grandiflorum)

  5. I love marsh marigolds. I see them in the wilderness around streams during the summer months. It will be awhile before we're able to get up there this year, since we have so much snow still. Not down here, though. :-)

  14. We are having summer for a few days this week, and then we will return to our normal wet, chilly spring. We aren't sure how to act in 78 degrees. Do we take a jacket just in case?
