This old photo from the Summer of 1969 was among the ones that I scanned.
My sister and my baby brother on the Yamaha 50 that our Dad brought home for us so we could drive faster to the back fields versus our bicycles. My sister was 3 and my baby brother was 15 in the photo. Note Far Guy's 1959 Desoto in the background.
That was a fun little motorcycle to drive.

I can always count on you for an interesting post! I love the old pictures especially! Thanks, Elaine
ReplyDeleteToday, many children get 4 wheelers. Laura’s three had one and Pop had a big looping path for a trail. One hit a tree. Didn’t tell but he saw the bashed front bumper guard. Laura decided maybe it was not so good of an idea. My Harrison three have Larry’s Honda 4 wheeler.. Greg could see the trail they road so it was safer.
ReplyDeleteWe lived in the country and had to walk down in the pasture. We didn’t even know how to ride a bicycle til Fleta won one from the Otasco Store. We all took turns and learned to ride.Larry bought me a bike when we married and I rode for exercise…not a motor one though.
Hope your appointments are speeding by and you’re getting them all checked off .
I did notice FG's car in the background. How fun to have a picture of it from those days. Glad to see that they did have their helmets on...I know those were some fun days and fun rides. I was thrilled yesterday when I went to my mailbox. Thank you Connie for your sweet words..they were much needed. You are very talented..
ReplyDeleteWhat a hoot! Like the Desoto too. Is that what Tilly is?

ReplyDeleteThe fact that Tilly is in the background makes this photo even more precious.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a lot of fun!!!
ReplyDeleteThere is something so nostalgic about old photos of kids in the country in the summer time. I have very few of those but your photos bring back memories.
ReplyDeleteKids road these bikes on back roads.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great photo!!! I am sure it brought back some terrific memories. I love when you share your photo scrapbook with us!

ReplyDeleteI'm 66 years old, and I've never ridden on a motorcycle. :)
Old Photos are always a delight to look back on, aren't they?
ReplyDeleteWhat a precious photo, Connie! Oh, for the simpler times. Love, Andrea xoxo
