Long Weekend

When we were working people we used to look forward to long weekends...as retirees every day is just about the same.  Sometimes we even lose track of what day it really is!

Lots of traffic on the roads...people going here and there with campers and boats.

We ventured out to meet one of the new puppies in the neighborhood.  His name is Hutch and he is pretty cute with sharp teeth! He is a Jack Russell Terrier.   I did not take my camera or my phone.

We had walleye (thank you Mike and Susie!!) and corn for supper!  It was delicious!!

Minnesota weather: High was 80F or 27C Low was 53F or 12C eh!  Nice day to sit outside visiting.  A few more days of nice weather and then we will really cool off.  So much for August!

  2. I forget the day too. People who work don’t understand how we can be so forgetful. It’s easy.

Jack Russell’s are usually too hyper for me.

  7. Walleye is probably my favorite fish but it is so expensive to buy. We don't fish. Jack Russells are VERY energetic! I'm so looking forward to the cool weather.

  8. We have one week of 90+ weather (so much cooler than those 100* days), then we drop into the 80s and 70s. I rather hope we have a long, long fall. I want to enjoy it. Summer about did me in.

  9. Dinner with friends, and a new puppy to meet. Sounds lovely!
It's another hot day here today. We got out early to water, pick tomatoes, and my daughter mowed the lawn. Now it is time to sit indoors and stay cool.

  10. Yum..walleye sounds good. I have always liked the Jack Russell pups. My brother had a couple of them years ago. Traveling is something we try to avoid on Holiday weekends. Interstate 20 is so busy and there are so many accidents on that highway. We most definitely try to avoid it.

  12. At first I had no idea what walleye was, then I read comments and now know its fish, since I don't like seafood it isn't something I would eat

  14. The difference for me ( long weekend) is that my garden helper will be available. I have a hard time remembering what day of the week it is.

  15. I do love walleye. One of our local restaurants has broiled walleye on the menu, and I often order it. And sometimes we can get fillets at the grocery store. Our fishing friends say the walleye fishing is pretty good in some SD lakes.

  16. LD....Walleye is such a good meal. I haven't eating any in years. My long weekend plans are just the same as every other day. I can't put out the garbage on holidays.

  17. I love these early autumn days the most. The temperature is usually always perfect and the sun isn't that hot anymore. I just wish we could stay like this and have NO SNOW!! Love, Andrea xoxo
