Remember this yarn?
Here is one project finished.
A finished coodie (hooded cowl)...the smile tells the story...Great Granddaughter Cee Cee loves it...but would like another one in pink.Since I had time during Far Guy's Infusion appointment...I went to Hobby Lobby. Yarn was on sale and I am a yarn hoarder. I stayed true to form and picked out some pink yarn. Then I thought about other yarn I could possibly use..and a number of projects came to mind. Who knew I could just look at yarn and dream up projects!
So the yarn stash grows...
The brown yarn project needed a bit of tweaking...that will be done real soon. As with any new pattern it is trial and error to make it fit properly! Yarn, gauge, hook size...sometimes it is all a puzzle. I try to take notes as I go. Then sometimes I forget.
It warmed up! Not quite bikini weather.
Far Side
Love it! It is hard to go shopping for one color of yarn isn't it. Ha ha!
ReplyDeleteHa ha! Not bikini weather! I went out yesterday without a face mask! Whoo Hoo!
ReplyDeleteIt felt warm at 12F and I did chores last night with bare hands.
That cowl is awesome. I do stuff like that with my scarf.
I bet it is warm and I bet someone will get one in pink!
I can’t wait to she Cee Cee in the pink one!
ReplyDeleteI guess I'm immune to Hobby Lobby. All my hobbies generally require power tools and wood. I guess if I walked into a warehouse full of rough saw boards of various species, I would have a horde of that back in my garage.
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful smile on Cee Cee's face. This looks like a difficult project, coming from a person who knows nothing about yarn and crocheting. I know you had yourself a good time with all of that yarn being on sale.
ReplyDeleteThat's good, I'm not quite bikini ready! Like, never.... That is one cute kiddo in her new coodie.
ReplyDeleteOooh! I LOVE that coodie and by that smile, obviously Cee Cee does too! Did you make a pattern for adults? I would love one on the nights I take Zoey out and it's below zero.
ReplyDeleteWhen I stop by Hobby Lobby during the weeks it's yarn is on sale, even if I'm not there to buy, the yarn seems to jump into my cart. It happened again on Tuesday. I was just walking down the aisle, admiring the beautiful colors and dreaming of baby things, when I looked down there were three skeins of baby yarn in my cart! How did that happen? Ha!
Seriously, you can never have enough yarn. I try to keep track of how much I use. In 2024 I used 51,483 yards or approximately 29.25 miles! Of course math isn't my strong skill, so I may be wrong on the conversion, but the yardage is correct!
It's supposed to be above freezing today! Hallelujah!
Blessings and hugs,
Betsy
I suspect it won't be bikini weather for some time yet. Though this morning, my town was only 7 degrees (in Fahrenheit) colder than here in the desert!
ReplyDeleteLove the cowlie, and CeeCee looks adorable in it.
That is so cute! And so practical. She'll love a pink one, for sure. :)
ReplyDeleteI agree, We are not having bikini weather either.
ReplyDeleteI love your creation and I love that smile!
ReplyDeleteThe coodie is such a clever idea. They seem more practical that a stocking cap when you live somewhere windy. That smile does say it all. What a cutie!!
ReplyDeleteI would think that the hobby lobby is a lucrative business.
ReplyDeleteNever heard of a coodie but it does look nice
ReplyDeleteThe Coodie is a great idea! We don't need things like that much more than a week down here but that is a wonderful piece of winter apparel. It is quite fashionable and looks very warm. I am so very thankful for you that your hands are cooperating as you are working on lovely projects and obviously enjoying doing them.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping to top up my hoard tomorrow if we can find a parking place at Michaels. I seem to have lost my knitting yaya, but think having a better selection to chose from might give it a prod. I love the little gals hat/cowl. The yarn looks nice and soft.
ReplyDeleteCeeCee make a cute model for your latest creation. I think a Coodie would be just the thing for Minnesota winters.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you found a reason or two, to buy yarn! Hobby Lobby is a fun place. Stay warm!
ReplyDeleteCee Cee in her new coodie is so cute. I learned a new word.
ReplyDeleteI'll do this as two comments in case the link causes trouble.

ReplyDeleteexactly! Thanks for sharing the link
DeleteYou are so talented. Perfect for the cold winter - I think I may know this more as a balaclava but I like this coodie name, too.
