Jen had a couple of projects happening. These are wall decorations.
Far Guy helped Jen by dipping the individual pieces of wood in food coloring. I love the way it turned out...so vibrant!
This is one I helped paint, in this photo you can see how the wood pieces stick out at different levels.
Jen took both pieces plus a few other creations over to the shop in Grand Forks.
Fun Stuff!
Still very cold here.

ReplyDeleteCold. Not much else to say.
What type of wood and food coloring is this?
ReplyDeletePine and regular food coloring that you buy at the grocery store
DeleteThe food coloring is a technique I've never heard of. It looks fabulous! These are both such interesting and beautiful pieces. Bet they sell fast.

ReplyDeleteLove the bright colors! Jen is very talented. :)
ReplyDeleteI love both of these. The dye-dipped wood blocks look like silk.
ReplyDeleteThat's an ambitious project! Very colorful, the top photo it looks like the pieces are colored glass.
ReplyDeleteI'm curious, are the pieces glued together or attached to a backing. Very cool pieces indeed!
ReplyDeleteGlued onto a board:)
DeleteI am impressed by Jen's talent.
ReplyDeleteIs there anything that she can't do? That's a really cool technique, but I love the Bee Kind painting too.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and hugs,
Betsy
I like how you can see the grain in the wood, especially in the darker one.
ReplyDeleteWell done, and it's fun that you can help.
That looks like so much fun!
