The game

Jen and Andy and the boys gave Far Guy Hockey Tickets “on the glass” for Christmas.  For those of you that don’t know… “on the glass” is in the first row. Jen and her Dad had a blast! ( Both really enjoy Hockey) North Dakota vs St Cloud

Far Guy took a selfie

Weeks ago Far Guy was certain he would not be able to go.  We all encouraged him that he would be strong enough to go…and he was.

We drove up North on Friday afternoon. After supper of loaded baked potatoes and salad Andy dropped them off at the arena so they wouldn’t have to walk very far.

I kept Adam company…he had all four of his wisdom teeth extracted on Friday morning.  He was doing quite well, not much pain so we watched a bunch of Forged in Fire episodes. Chance enjoyed seeing Miney and Little Elvis…but he growled at poor old kitty Chaucer.   We drove back home after the game..it was late…the last 50 miles we didn’t meet another car on the road.

Game day Jen and Gene

Before the game photo.  Oh yes North Dakota ( now the Fighting Hawks used to be the Sioux and for Sioux Fans Sioux Forever!) lost in overtime 4-3.

  2. Your daughter's kitchen has fhe same dishes as my daughter's kitchen. :-). So glad FG was able to make the trip and enjoy his Christmas present. You did a great job of taking care of him, Connie!

  7. Or as my youngest son an NDSU Bison Grad used to yell at the Bison V Fighting Sioux football games "Sioux Suks". His mother was not proud. I remember that crowd throwing dead rodents on the ice against my beloved Gophers...

    1. I went to NDSU also. Yes the Sioux fans have had quite a history of throwing gophers on the ice during a game against the Golden Gophers, lately I think they search purses etc for anything that could be thrown on the ice:)

  8. Yay! He's getting better quickly. FG is tough. Sorry to hear about Adam's wisdom teeth extraction, though. :-(

  9. Being a sports fan is fun. I remember four years ago I was determined to make it to the opening match of the MLS Sounders season five weeks after my back surgery. I did! Yay for Far Guy! Hockey is like soccer on ice.

  12. So wonderful Far Guy got to go to the game with his hockey-loving daughter! On the glass too! What a great gift. Loved the selfies and the picture of them both in their game jerseys. Too bad they lost but it was close and it sounds like you all had a good time getting together....especially the food...yum!
