Egg Review

Far Guy likes to have eggs every other morning.  I was making him scrambled eggs but then I kind of slacked off…so he bought a new fangled container with “stuff” in it and you just add an egg and heat it all up in the microwave…it has potatoes, some kind of meat, peppers and onions and maybe even some cheese….and lots of preservatives.

All I could taste was peppers…and peppers are not my favorite food.  Far Guy ate it…I wouldn’t have, one taste was enough for me.  He will eat something he really doesn’t like…I won’t… I go get the peanut butter and a slice of bread.

Who tests these kinds of food?  They must not have any proper taste buds in their entire mouth.  There is one container left and we will donate it to the Food Shelf. I give it a 0 out of 10.  Far Guy gives it a 2 maybe a 3  out of 10.

Far Guy is much more adventurous with food than I am.  If we have something he doesn’t really care for he usually says “Well… it will make a turd or push one out.”

  1. Glad for the heads up on that product. It has been advertised a lot.
I love a plain poached egg!

  2. Thanks for the heads up on the egg product. Was thinking of trying it. If I am going to have scrambled eggs I would rather doit myself. Love the photo of "something green".

  3. I've seen these advertised. I guess peppers are the cheapest ingred. so that is why there's a lot of them! I imagine it is full of salt.

  4. I'm not that adventurous--and dislike the green peppers. Like orange, red, and yellow peppers, though. I wonder how many of those get donated to the food shelf--LOL! ;)

  5. Thanks for the food review. I don't eat that kind of stuff anyway, but if I did, that's one I would skip. :-)

  6. LOL...hubby wants me to slice and dice stuff for the eggs. However, I have peppers sliced and frozen in small quantities just for things like this. I have a large garden and so freeze or dry my foods so that I can just open a packet and dump it in whatever I am making.
Love the photo, it looks very inviting. Can I come and read a book there?

  7. Well I guess I thought that by picking today when all the snow would be gone for you that it would chase it away - so sorry it didn't work. I also prefer making my own recipe for eggs plus - don't like prepackaged anything. On another note I just finished reading "Circus Queen and Tinkerbell" about Tiny Cline. I think maybe I got that title from you or maybe from a novel I read that involved a circus person. Anyway I really was fascinated with hearing about how that business was run plus the Broadway shows of the past. Also enjoyed your recollections of your life in the business. Love learning about things I wouldn't otherwise experience!

  9. Happy first day of spring!
Home made is always better than pre prepared food. Even if it does require more effort.

  14. My mom initiated me into the Clean Plate Club at age 3 or 4. Something about all of those starving kids in China. I sense Far Guy may also be a member of the same organization....

  15. Haha on Far Guy's comment! He can easily make his own scrambled eggs though ;-)

  19. I have an awful time making myself eat something I don't like. DH, on the other hand, is almost always willing to eat whatever is put in front of him.
    Have a great rest-of-the-week.

  20. I saw those scramble cups advertised recently. I guess I won't be buying them.

  21. I try to eat something I've brought to try, unless it's so disgusting I just can't force it down. But there are times where I just can't manage it, so in the bin it goes.

  22. I am very tempted to buy some that 'prepared' food and save time but I know the more 'processed' something is the worse it is for you plus more sodium and chemicals you can't pronounce. It;s takes a lot of time out of my week but I'm used to it now. Love that saying! LOL! I never heard that one before!
