Easter Weekend

 I should NOT complain....but I am a tad cranky.

It doesn't seem like Easter time here, if I were hiding eggs outside I would have to traipse through the freaking SNOW.

It snowed off and on all day Friday and it was rather chilly.  21 F or -6 C eh!

I tried to do too much with my thumb ...seemed like everything I did was a pain...grinding the pepper mill, shoveling the walk, lifting drawers upstairs and washing dishes.

I have a plantar wart...not sure how I got it...but I do know someone else who has one and I do go barefoot most of the winter.  What a pain in the foot....we will try to get rid of it here at home.

Well you know what they say about a frown...it is just a smile upside down.

The bunnies at Andy and Jen's home always make me smile.

Ceramics from a long time ago, the basket is Mother of Pearl.

My parents seem to be getting along ok at their new digs.

We remember and pray for those on Hospice.

Far Guy's sister Jan, and Andy's Dad Bob.

  1. It's okay to be cranky, I get that way too. You have so many things happening in your life at once and they are not all easy to deal with.
    Those rabbits are the cutest.
Nothing happening here this weekend at all. Snow on Sunday though... hmmmm.

  2. Hope your thumb improves a bit more each day.
I remember an indoor egg hunt when I was a kid and it was pouring rain outside.
    Happy Easter!

  3. I'm sorry you are having to deal with so much. I'm glad your folks are adjusting well....the older we get the harder it is to deal with change. We had a tornado last night....just missed us! I was in the basement for over an hour but grateful we didn't get hit!
Whenever I start feeling sorry for myself I think of all the things I have to be grateful for...like....I'm not a paraplegic, I don't have a life threatening disease (yet), I'm not in Ukraine etc....you get the picture...it always makes me feel grateful of what I do have.
I'm not lecturing...just trying to lift you up! I usually give myself 24-48 hours for a pity party and then I have to get my big girl pants on and get on with it. Hugs ~ Sam

  4. Prayers for all those who need one!! We had temps in the 20s a couple of days this week, but no snow. We got a little bit of rain, but not even enough to wash the "snow mold" off the lawn. Maybe tomorrow . . .

  5. I think you, like me, are just so over the snow and the winter weather. It's spring SAD I guess.

My thoughts go out to those who are in hospice, and for all who love and care for them.

    Those bunnies are hilarious!

  7. Enjoy the pretties inside, your house is beautiful from what I have seen.
We have a friend who is having knee surgery soon....she has now painted at least 3 rooms has her garden planted and anything else she can think of before because she knows she won't be able to do it during recuperation.
I would say .....try making a list instead of doing everything at once....for when your thumb is healed...you don't want to relapse it by overdoing it before healing. :)

  8. I had plantar's warts as a teen. Our hometown doc said to keep it covered with white tape (medical tape?). Change it every day. It pulls the root out (yuck) but it worked! They are not fun! Good luck!

  9. It seems too easy to get cranky these days with all that is going on in the world on top of our personal situations. Try not to overdo using your thumb. I hope you will see some improvement on a regular basis. I'm keeping your family in my prayers. Those bunnies are adorable!

  11. My dear Connie, I can understand why you feel down. We don't have any snow left, but do have COLD temperatures. It sure doesn't feel like the end of April. Spokane has snow too and our friends aren't happy either.
I'm sorry about your hand. You are such a go-getter, that I can imagine being forced to slow down isn't fun or easy for you to do. I AM glad that your parents seem to be settling in well. That can be such a difficult change.
We're continuing in prayer for both of you and your family. Life is certainly full of difficulties. Aren't you glad for Jesus coming to take us away from all of this soon?
    Happy Easter my friend.
    Blessings and love,
    Betsy

  12. I hope you have an Easter full of joy tomorrow. You have a lot on your plate and some crankiness is quite understandable. Hoping tomorrow is a better day for you. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com

  13. We wiil be cold here for Easter weekend. but not your kind of cold. We should be able to have our egg hunt outside, but we probably won't linger outside to count our goodies. I will think of you and your egg hunt in a blanket of snow. :-)
Find reasons for joy as you deal with all of the physical and emotional pain. So glad that your parents are OK.

  14. Oh no, a Cranky Connie - watch out everyone!
Seriously, though, I hope you soon switch back to being more happy. With all those things happening I can see why you are feeling frustrated and maybe a bit tired as well.
Take special care of yourself, hugz Mxx

  15. Cold here for Easter but 50 degrees sounds like heat wave compared to your weather. My Sigrid had a planters wart. She had to have it froze more than once. It really hurt. She’s on the swim team and thinks she got it at the pool. Happy Easter to you and yours.

  16. I certainly agree that Easter does not seem like Easter this year. I'm sure weather has a lot to do with it. No egg coloring for us this year. Kind of sad about that. ( I love Easter eggs!) But next week might seem more pleasant. Hopefully, anyway. Happy Easter!

  17. We're supposed to get rain for Easter. As my son brought me home this afternoon, we passed many families doing their Easter egg hunts for the kiddos in their front yards since rain would nix that activity tomorrow. I am praying that your hand heals quickly and that movement will become easier so you can do the things you're used to and enjoy doing. Keeping Far Guy's sister and Andy's dad also on our prayer list as alwawys. We're praying for God's presence to surround them all and bring comfort and peace. Hugs to you, dear Connie!!!

  20. Looking at snow for that long would make me cranky too. Those bunnies are so cute! Hope your Easter turned out nice, and your thumb stopped hurting.

  21. You and Far Guy are carrying a lot of concerns right now. I hope your parents can settle in once they get the new routines going. Family illness is so hard. Take care of the two of yourselves the most.

  22. The weather doesn't care if it's Easter weekend or not.
Hope using your thumb again gets easier soon.
