The fuzzy little catkins that are an early sign of spring have sprung.
The river at the Dead Beaver Area is a nice backdrop for some Pussy Willows.
They give me hope that spring will come someday. The daily snow flurries will stop, the North wind will stop blowing and our daytime temperatures will go above the 30’s maybe even into the 40’s.
I love your photos. No snow flurries here, but we did have thunderstorms and hail last night. Wishing you, FG and Chance a good day and warmer temps.
ReplyDeleteGreat post. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteNice photos. I am beginning to wonder if Spring will ever come. We had snow flurries again this morning with temps in the 30's. Some flowers are brave enough to try to sprout, but the cloudy cold dreary days really need to give way to sunshine and warmer temps. If it sounds like I have cabin fever, I do.
ReplyDeleteOur weather, on the other hand, is simply wonderful. We're possibly going to hit a record high today! I'm hoping MinneSNOWda will someday stop with the snow flurries. :-)
ReplyDeleteI've loved pussy willows since I was little girl, one of the earliest signs of spring in the North. It's coming, Connie!!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos! Looks like a little frost on the cattails yet. We already have light flurries here in the cities.
ReplyDeleteNo hope today here either. Not even pussy willows....
ReplyDeleteLovely photos . The temps here have been fluctuating to from warm to cold but no snow just lots of rain ! grass is green and lush now will have to cut it soon , lats night we had thunderstorms and the temps hit 14C eh? or 56F and the peepers in the marsh and by the river were singing . Hope spring show up there for good soon .Thanks for sharing , have a good day !
ReplyDeleteWe are in the same weather pattern as DJan, the forecast is for sun and 79F here today. We will be complaining about the heat! I wish you a speedy arrival of Spring. We often have pussywillows in January. My sister in Ontario though, got some of that snow.
ReplyDeleteI love those little fuzzies - need to go see if any have popped out here!
ReplyDeleteWe've been having cold rain here in Fargo. There's even a bit of green grass peeking up and it's just April and still feels like parka weather.
ReplyDeleteOur pussy willows were very early this year. the poplar catkins are out.
ReplyDeleteThings are bound to change one of these days!! ( Hopefully SOON).
ReplyDeleteI noticed some catkins in the ditch the other day...they've just about dried off. We've had some 60-70* weather and lots of ugly wind.
ReplyDeletePussywillows promise spring will come. This late winter blast was very unkind.
ReplyDeleteI love pussy willows but haven't seen any around here for a long, long time. Thank you for sharing your pictures!
ReplyDeleteWhere do pussy willows come from? I never knew really....I thought they were from willow trees but not really sure and I want to plant them in my next yard as I love them! Beautiful photos even if it isn't green....it's nature's beauty!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I bought some last year...must go find them and put them out again!
ReplyDeleteIt does look cold and dreary though.
