In this area of Minnesota and North Dakota right across the river many people say... It's cold but at least it's windy. It's hot but at least it's windy. It's raining but at least it's windy. It is most always windy here and it is part of the weather you can count on. I swear the wind comes off the mountains in Montana and gains speed over North Dakota because there is nothing to stop it...just my opinion.
Minnesota weather; High was -2F or -19C low was -18F or -28C eh! The real feel of the air was in the -20F to -30F all day. Far Guy and I did not leave the house and we felt sorry for Sadie who lays in the snow!
Not sure what year I made these bead angels they were fun to make.
Are those bead angels made with safety pins?
ReplyDeleteThey are made with wire:)
DeleteI think your weather over your lifetime has taught you endurance. Love the angel.
ReplyDeleteI never heard that saying before. Here we are glad when it's not windy, partly because it comes down from the north, cold and uncomfortable.
ReplyDeletewell we got snow overnite...couple inches...that cripples everything here in MD....
ReplyDeleteWe had 2 degrees this morning. By Thursday the temperature is expected to be 50. I am from northern Ohio. The temperature there does not jump up and down like the temperature in the Dayton area. Glad you were able to stay indoors. That is what I am doing today.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful Angel this is...the perfect color of blue. It stands out in all of it's beauty. It is very windy here this morning which is making our temps drop. Makes you wonder where the saying "But at least it's windy" came from. Stay warm and I hope Sadie girl is warm too.
ReplyDeletePizza sounds good. Is it flat up there? I haven't been to NW MN, the only area of the state I've missed.
ReplyDeleteyes very flat!
DeleteSadie must love the snow!!! We get wind here. Sometimes too much wind.
ReplyDeleteThe temperature has risen overnight and today, but the winds are expected to blow at 60 kph (30 mph). It is another nice day to stay indoors and stay warm. Funny, pizza is on the menu tonight!
ReplyDeleteSo it was intentional after all! I guess we have something similar. We say it is windy, but wait five minutes. It is sunny and mild, but wait five minutes, etc.
ReplyDeleteWe are happy when it's not windy. Too many trees to blow over in winter or fires to spread in summer.
ReplyDeleteI guess your "at least it's windy" means things are normal. That can be comforting, or maybe it's just a sarcastic shrug? Or you can get bragging rights for the lowest temps when the wind chill kicks in? :-)
Love the beaded angel! The only time we get wind here in Florida is on the coldest days and during hurricanes, never when we need it during the hottest months of the year. *sigh*
ReplyDeleteExcept in July & August here in the Lower Mainland we tend to say "at least it's not raining".
ReplyDeleteWhen I moved up to Fargo from the Twin Cities the constant wind freaked me out! Now dead still air freaks me out--lol! :)
ReplyDeleteWinds sure scare me with all our trees leaning!
