Fungi

My other baby brother has a tree with some interesting fungi.

I have no idea what kind of fungi this is ...other than interesting.

On the other side of the tree is one little fungi.

I used to know more about fungi...I took a very interesting Botany class many years ago...use it or lose it...

Sometimes I should just enjoy the discovery without all the information like its real name.

  1. It's pretty and looks like it might be eatable, but I wouldn't ever try it on my own.

  4. It is that time of the year. We have a book that identifies mushrooms, but thus far have been afraid to eat any.

  7. It is nice to see fungi. I hope we get some moisture because fall is the prime time for fungi to appear!

  9. I'm with you, I can appreciate the beauty of nature without knowing the names of everything. Those are very cool fungi!

  10. Not knowing all the names makes the world kind of magical to me. But I am in awe of the folks who do know all the names. :)

  13. I love finding fungi but never know the names of them (not a problem as I have no desire to eat any of them). There are so many types and such different colours that I simply enjoy looking at them. Your tree one is a pretty colour :)

  14. Those big orange blobs are very interesting, something I have never seen before. I guess I would like to know its name too.

  16. It looks like an orange. Do you think it's poisonous?

  17. I am calling it Pumpkin Fungus since it is pumpkin colored and it is the 29th of October. I would assume poisonous because that is more scary.

  18. It looks like body parts! Ha! I love mushrooms but only eat the ones from the grocery store. Even if I knew which ones in nature were edible, I would never trust myself. Did I tell you that my appointment for the new doctor for my back is November 4th? I'm so excited. I would love to have no pain and get off that med. I just hope it isn't as difficult to wean off of as it was for you. Yikes!
    Blessings and love,
    Betsy

  20. Isn’t that fabulous! I love the way the fruiting bodies just seem to squeeze out of the tree trunk.
