Crochet Scrubbies

There is a great pattern for a number of scrubbies at Yarnspirations.   Niece Katie first shared the pattern with me a number of years ago.  I have a small workbag with balls of scrubby yarn...Red Heart or Hobby Lobby brand they are all good.  There are many different types of yarns to use.  I use a 4mm crochet hook just because I like the feel of that size hook and I have several Tulip Crochet hooks that size.

I like scrubbies that are a bit larger so I usually do four rounds instead of three as the pattern suggests.

It is an easy to carry with you project easily worked on in the car or waiting at some appointment.

I do make them to sell in a craft shop but I give many of them away.

Personally I use them all the time much like a dish rag...they dry out quickly and are easily washed with other kitchen towels...or replaced.

  1. I have one of your scrubbies that you gifted me when I purchased a Far Guy carving. I really like it. It works great!

  2. I love mine and have used them ever since I got them. They are more useful than most clothes!
They are getting quite faded now.
When my grand daughter visits this coming weekend, I think she and I will be shopping for yarn. She has picked up crocheting!

  3. They are adorable...I am so impressed with all of your many talents. What a perfect way to pass time, waiting for doctor's appointment. I spend way too much time scrolling through my phone at time like this. I need to learn to crochet. Happy Tuesday...

  5. I have loved your scrubbies ever since you surprised me with one as a gift years ago. Thanks so much for the housewarming present of scrubbies, my friend!! I am saving them for the move. I like your bigger version, too. They last a long, long time! :) :)

  7. Awesome project. One of my daughters and one granddaughter are learning to crochet. These might be a good project for beginners.

  8. No doubt the scrubbies that you make last longer than the Dollar store ones,

  12. The scrubby that you sent me years ago did last a long time and it was much better than the junk at the store!

  13. I am the proud recipient of some of yours from years ago. Since I rarely cook or clean up, and hubby doesn't use them, I still have two, which remind me of you when I see them. :-)

  14. That is great that you can sell these. I used to make them for craft shows, and sold zero. I sold more of the bigger ones I made from netting (but way too much work to make). I ended up donating my scrubbie yarns to an area facility that helps people recover from addictions.
