We are enjoying the nice days. Spending time outside and coming in at night dog tired. Thank goodness supper was easy...salad and Jambalya. It was 72 F or 22 C yesterday...perfect Fall weather.
We took down the screened tent and put it in the garage to dry out. Far Guy pulled out the tomato plants and put them in the woods where wildlife will eat them. I ran several errands in town. I started painting the sauna and it is going well and looks so much better. It was a nice day to sit on the ground and paint the bottom of the boards on two sides! Very quiet outside, I could hear the machinery that was harvesting beans in a field a mile away and the trucks going up and down the highway.
We are getting some things crossed off our Fall work list.
Far Side
I think that we are all welcoming fall after the steam baths summers have become in recent years. I am looking forward to the first frost.
ReplyDeleteOur days have been really nice also. I am enjoying Fall so far. Got my Fall decorations from our local farmer and they are up and looking good.
ReplyDeleteSuch gorgeous color! I am impressed with how much the two of you accomplish every day.
ReplyDeleteWe're crossing things off, as well. Well, I am. JB cannot do much with his physical issues!
ReplyDeleteYour colors are super brilliant! Don't know that ours will be. We have been a while without rain so the leaves may just turn brown and drop.
ReplyDeleteWhat a blessing from God to look outside and see that beauty.
The weather has been wonderful. You have been busy!
ReplyDeleteLook at all that color! Our leaves are in beginning stages. A cold front is predicted in a couple days, that will bring out the color.
ReplyDeleteYou have been busy a'painting. Fall is such a good time of year for outdoor projects.
Pulling the regular tomato plants today. Those cherry plants I bought by mistake are invincible.
ReplyDeleteThe colour of the bushes and trees are gorgeous. Nice to have good fall weather. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI Love Your photos of your yard your fall is beautiful
ReplyDeleteWe pulled all the garden up on Sunday and had frost on Monday, although not a hard frost. We're leaving to go camping in just a few minutes. Sure looking forward to getting away for a few days.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy
Such beautiful color in that photo!
ReplyDeleteWe have fog and drizzle today. It may burn off by evening. I have spent all morning with PT it seems: A session at the clinic this morning, then a flu shot, a little shopping on the way home, then remaking my PT checklists, and trying to figure out the new exercises. I am beat and discouraged, and I am going to get over it by doing a little work outside. This evening we celebrate Tom's birthday along with his twin.
I wrote a long comment and it disappeared again. :-(
ReplyDeleteLove the photo - such beautiful colors. Congratulations on working your way through the Fall chores list.
ReplyDeleteOur little neighborhood hadn't been showing much for fall colors yet. But we drove to Sioux Falls yesterday for the grandsons' evening flag football games, and I was quite surprised at how pretty the foliage had become along the way. We got a bit of rain during the night but not really enough to make any kind of difference. Today is much cooler and we might see a light rain about supper time again.
ReplyDeleteYour photo is full of outstanding color. It is nice to work outside in this weather. I did clear some more peonies this morning and mulched some iris that I had planted yesterday. I have bushes to trim but won't until the birds get all the berries eaten.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you have been very productive. There's always so much to "take down" and "put away" in the fall. I started cleaning out the garden... I used to be able to do it in a day, but now it takes a week!
ReplyDeleteI wanted to take a few pics of the trees as they turn here in Wisconsin. I have missed all of that fall color living in Iowa for so long. Iowa only turns things gold and brown during the fall.... Hehe.
ReplyDeleteThat fall work list never seems to end until freeze up!
ReplyDeleteFall clean-up is an ongoing thing here too. I'm limited as to what I can do but youngest son helps out. We have not had significant rainfall since the end of June so it's very dry. Even the weeds are not growing much.
ReplyDeleteYou're getting alot done around your place, plus out enjoying the beautiful weather. Good for you guys. Love your picture!
ReplyDeleteI think I spy “Poison Sumac”.
ReplyDeleteLove those fall colors!
ReplyDeleteGood work. I managed goldfish yesterday. It's good exercise, I tell myself!
