Rain

It is dreary and rainy.  Has been for the past few days.

Far Guy is still struggling with a bad cough and shortness of breath.  He is not any better but not any worse.  Hopefully I am taking good enough care of him that we can avoid the hospital.

I have been keeping busy with many projects.  One day I spent just doing odds and ends that had piled up…delivered a birthday gift, returned jars, returned egg cartons, mailed a package and washed the lawn mower in preparation for winter.

Finally said “enough is enough” and splurged on a new printer ($34).  Far Guy has been sending me emails saying “print this please” because our older printer kept forgetting his computer…it was a pain in the butt and he wasted time trying to fix it everytime he wanted to print something.

I repaired some solar lights…didyaknow you can replace the batteries in some solar lights…BUT you need rechargable SOLAR batteries.

I am still working on Christmas Cards.

wet

Even the tree rats are wet.

Took my Dad to Bingo, good thing I took him along as he bingoed twice!

  1. Good to hear your dad had some Bingo wins. Our weather here is getting warmer every day which is great as we had a long, cold and wet winter so it is nice to be able to get out in the sunshine. It won't be long before we are complaining about the heat but for now it is lovely. Winter is good for getting those inside projects done. Hope your new printer works for both of you, we had the same problem and got a new one, they are cheaper to replace than to buy new cartridges. I will never understand how that works!!

  2. Glad Far Guy isn't any worse. Hope he gets better soon.

It's cold but dry here today. Was really rainy yesterday though.

Glad you're making good progress with finishing up various projects.

  3. Would a humidifier help Far Guy at all? I hope he rallies soon. Emotions can be very draining on your system too....they exhaust me. You motivate me to finish up things and I am..slowly but surely. Today the sun is out and it is going to warm up to window washing temperatures! I hope the sun shines on you.

  4. It sounds as though you accomplished quite a lot. We had the same sort of printer issue and ended up having to get a new one today. I sure hope Far Guy is feeling better soon.
    Blessings,

  7. Hope Far Guy feels better too. And I think the $34 was a good investment.

  8. I am plugging along with a cheap printer also (now have to plug it in) it didn't survive our changes in modem/router etc. And I have attempted the battery swap on solar lights too - some it works some not so lucky! Get well Far Guy!! Seeing some sunshine today :)

  9. Printers - ugh! I have always fought with printers both at work (before I retired) and at home. They can aggravate the heck out of you and the ink cartridges are expensive.

I do hope Far Guy is better. Thanks for the info on solar batteries. I didn't know they existed!

  10. I'll have to try to remember solar batteries as I just got solar light for the patio this year. I'm glad FarGuy is no worse. Funny how no worse can be such a good thing. :) Hope the new printer works well. Sounds like you got a lot of errands run that day. Your dad had a lucky bingo night, too! Wet squirrel made me chuckle. Stay dry and warm! :)

  11. I sure hope FG starts to recover soon. The dreary weather probably doesn't help. Thanks for keeping me posted as to how he's doing. Keeping fingers and toes crossed that he stays out of hospital.

  12. I sure hope Far Guy starts on the road to recovery soon. I guess the antibiotics aren't doing much to help.
Hopefully the new printer will work fine and eliminate future frustrations!

  16. Well our weather has turned quite frightful with fog, rain, and gusty winds. Good for indoor work.

  17. Good for you, taking things off the To Do list! I did a fair bit, before the snow fell!

  18. That "tree rat" looks kinda guilty...like you caught him in the midst of something he oughtn't to be doing...

Thanks for the update on Far Guy. At least he is holding the line, though we are sending good thoughts and prayers for his recovery.
