Little Spring Flowers

This cheerful little flower is blooming now among the Oaks, it is a spring ephemeral.

As the sunshine reaches the forest floor Hepatica sends up it’s flowers before they are shaded out by the trees.  I think this one is the Sharp-Lobed Hepatica.  It is a plant Native to Minnesota.

  12. Hepatica are so pretty. Ours have bloomed and disappeared except for a few leaves here and there. Do you have Mayapples in your area? They are showy this year in our area but past their peak.
