The harvest has begun. Chaff and pea dirt is in the air.
Donnie’s small grain field looked great…no irrigation…he just relied on the good Lord to bring rain for his crop.
We saw a Hawk…not sure what kind but he was hunting above one of the recently harvested pea fields.
We will be glad when the pea field kitty corner from us is all harvested. Far Guy likes to walk in that direction. It was not a good idea yesterday.
We woodcarved most of the afternoon yesterday, there was enough of a breeze to keep the skeeters under control. Progress is slow but steady. We hope to have a productive carving week… we only see the Dentist this week…no Doctors appointments are scheduled…yeah for us!
Looks like a Broad-winged Hawk to me Hope FarGuy stays out of the dust.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I would have taken a walk either with all that dust. Yea for no doctor appointments! Happy Monday.
ReplyDeleteThat is a lot of dirt and dust in the air. I would be sneezing like crazy. Happy there are no doctor appointments. Happy teeth cleaning.
ReplyDeleteHubby has dentist tomorrow and doctor next week. I'm clear for the month of August. Those machines sure do stir up the dust! :-)
ReplyDeleteDefinitely YAY for no doctors! Our harvests here have been sporadic but I suspect they are going to pick up now really quickly.
ReplyDeleteYes, the Lord did bless Donnie with a good oats crop this year. Great pictures!
ReplyDeleteSweet Corn and Wheat Harvest in full swing here.
ReplyDeleteLinda
Beautiful hawk! All that dust! I sneeze, eyes water, and I can't breathe.
ReplyDeleteGlad you guys are carving away and don't have to do much running this week. :)
I love the smells of harvest time, but I can do without the dust.
ReplyDeleteI love the pictures! That hawk looks bigger that what we see here and we see some pretty big ones. Gosh, I didn't realize I had missed so many of your posts...but enjoyed catching up...all the way back to Adam in the candy store. That's a cute picture.
ReplyDeleteOne benefit of a dry year...few skeeters!
ReplyDeleteOh that is a beautiful hawk and beautiful photos of your pea field. Take care and fixed my problem finally. :) Hugs B
ReplyDeleteLovely photos . We like going on the occasional drive to just to see different things or go down to the beaches and walk the pier and small port towns get an ice cream from the shops that are off of lake Erie not far from us as the sun sets in the summer evenings soo lovely . Thanks for sharing , have a good day !
ReplyDeleteChaff and dirt in the air doesn't sound pleasant. Hope that is done soon.
ReplyDeleteHave a relaxing week.
We consider it great when there are no dr. appts. scheduled! All that dust would be difficult to deal with. Hope they are finished soon.
ReplyDeleteHi to Chance. Rare that I get a mosquito bite, but I got one while walking Theo early this a.m.
These must be dried peas, like split peas?
ReplyDeleteIt's always special to see hawks or other birds of prey.
It's a long time til harvest begins here.
ReplyDeleteHope the dentist isn't also looking forward to a "productive carving week" ;)
ReplyDeleteWonderful shots. Love that green truck.
ReplyDeleteLove the truck, carving and no dr. appointments are always nice.
