Chance and I

went for a ride, Chance likes demands a ride just about every day.  Far Guy was off doing “stuff” with his classmates so we did our own thing…our own thing is Chance hanging his head out the window and me looking for photo opportunities.

We made one stop where I got out of the car and Chance hung out the windows keeping one eye on me.

Leaves at the blue shutter house

The leaves at the white house with the blue trim were beautiful!

Old Stoves

I told Chance about how an old stove reminds me of fresh baked bread slathered in butter, and bacon frying up in a pan…oh and eggs just right for dipping.  Believe it or not Chance knows the word bacon and his salvia glands started working overtime.

I guess these are more for decoration and “remembering when” instead of cooking.

Our leaves were peak last Wednesday October 7 this year…then it rained and some are still okay but we are past peak with our fall color.

  7. You may be past the peak with your leaves but they are still brilliant. Yes, I also remember wood stoves and home made bread . What a treat! When I was in the Arctic you couldn't buy bread so we baked our own.

  11. Oh yes, I am sure Chance knows the word "bacon". Just like all dogs know the word "walk". And our dog Rachel knew the word "W-A-L-K", and even "eveningly trot". We tried to con her with these pseudonyms but it never worked.

  12. Our leaves are still turning colours but it is sad when they're at their loveliest and one big wind or heavy rain and most are swept away.

  13. Lovely photos. Can't believe your peak color moment is already over. We haven't even begun yet...except for the leaves that just browned up and fell off because of the stress of the drought.

Chance is funny. Bacon? Who says dogs don't understand what we tell them? Someone must have done several tutorials on bacon ;)

  15. Now I've got that commercial in my head--LOL!
Good thing you caught the beautiful leaves when you did.
We've had wind warnings here. Pieces of trash and tumbleweeds are twirling about outside on the grass.
    Hope it's a good week. :)

  18. Great photos! We hit peak about the end of October according to the map so I am planning my annual doctor appointments for then when I drive to Mountain Home which is a gorgeous drive any time. My sugar maple is just starting to get really colorful. The hummers left on the 10th and although it was 85 yesterday, a cold front came in last night and now there will be no more 80's! Yay! It's time for me to work outside! LOL!
