Over the weekend we had several family gatherings with my folks. Supper out on Saturday night and a coffee and goodies get together between church services on Sunday to celebrate their 65th Wedding Anniversary.
My baby brother and sister in law from far away were able to attend. My sister came from a ways away…that left us locals….me and my other baby brother.
Baby brother, me, Dad, Mom, my sister and my other baby brother.
I am the oldest, followed by my baby brother when I was three, then my other baby brother when I was nine and I was almost sixteen when my sister was born.
At breakfast Dad said “If I had been killed in Korea you would have been an only child…instead look how we were all blessed with your brothers and sister.”
Dad and Mom 65 years and 4 days and counting.
Happy 65th Anniversary to your parents. It must have been a very special celebration for them to have their children there to help them celebrate.
ReplyDeleteWow, that is really impressive to have reached such a milestone of 65 years.

How nice to get all the family together for that special occasion;) Congrats to your mum and dad, they look great!
ReplyDeleteMany, many congrats to your Mom and Dad on their 65th what a accomplishment...do they have a secret? And how wonderful to see all of your family members together in one place at the same time...as we age it gets harder to do that too.

We have families in this area that have that big of spread in age but there were babies about every two years for the 16 years. I always said that my two older brothers, who are distant to me, they were the pre war babies and my late brother and me were post war babies. We all turned out so differently.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute family and I have to say that last shot of your folks is extra adorable!
ReplyDeleteWhat a happy day, 65 years is great!
ReplyDeleteHuge congrats to your parents!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to your mom and dad, and what a nice way to celebrate a milestone anniversary! How nice that the weather didn't turn nasty until today (or at least I think that's the case). Stay warm.
ReplyDeleteThat is indeed a sobering thought about Korea. Thank God it didn't have to turn out that way! How wonderful that the four of you were able to get together to honor your parents like this. Congratulations to your mom and dad! Sixty five years is impressive!
ReplyDeleteLovely post and photos . So that's what you look like ! Nice to put a pretty face to a lovely blog . Congrats to your mum and dad and Happy Anniversary to them to ! Thanks for sharing , Have a good day !
ReplyDeleteYes, congrats to your parents! Wow! You were 16 when your sister was born. I was the youngest and the only girl for 11 years then a sister was born followed 2 years later by another sister. At first the age diff is huge, of course, but later in life I find we are closer.
ReplyDeleteThat is a milestone worth celebrating and worth gathering the "kids" for.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to your parents for their 65 years together! That is a wonderful accomplishment. They have a beautiful family! Have a nice week!
ReplyDeleteGlad to meet such a beautiful family, and especially the anniversary couple. What a milestone! :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely family! When you get to be "our age" it's hard to tell who's older or younger unless they color their hair and then it can be a bit confusing until you get close up. LOL! You are so fortunate to have your parents with you still and healthy. So nice to see a picture of you too! Happy Anniversary to them and I hope you all had a great time together. I was an only child and my parents are gone so it's just me, myself and I. I have a few cousins but they don't communicate much. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteLove the pictures!! Your dad sounds like a character. ;) We both had family gatherings this past weekend. Saturday was perfect weather and Sunday was windy but still warm, at least. Congrats to your parents. So nice all your siblings could make it, too. (I'm the oldest, too.) What a blessing they are still together. Your dad still has a twinkle in his eye. :)
ReplyDeleteI had seen a few of these pics on fb, but wanted to come by and say congrats to your parents again. These photos are precious.
ReplyDeleteAwesome achievement of 65 years! Hub and I have 35 under our belt but we're babes by comparison! How lucky you are to still have both parents in good health.
