I have been enjoying the little things in life. Cool water on a hot evening. A evening ride with the guys. A Flea Market trip and the guys returning with the mail!
I resisted this purchase until I told Far Guy about it..immediately he saw why I was attracted to this little piece of art. So he bought it for me! I am not exactly sure what it is..a watercolor maybe it has a sealed back and I hate to disturb it. It looks like a Collie to me..or a Sheltland Sheepdog watching over a flock of sheep in the evening light.
It isn’t very big and hardly takes up any space at all. It came with the cute little stand.
We couldn’t resist this either.
The Gene Autry Collection grows..we aren’t actively looking for his “stuff” anymore. Isn’t that the way it goes..when you stop looking for something you find it all over.
I got a very nice surprise in the mail. I won a drawing over at Punkin’s Patch. Thanks Sara!
This is her collection of Christmas Cards. She knows I love me a Border Collie!
They are wonderful and whimsical!
Here is the rest of the loot! What fun to get a package in the mail! :)
It sure is the littlest of things that make the biggest impact. Lucky you, winning the drawing!! The cards are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteNow don't get me going again : here I am trying to de-clutter and you are encouraging me to re-clutter!. Amy is fine, by the way, and sends you a trans-Atlantic wuff and lick.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful Package.
ReplyDeleteI do love that picture, too.
I can see why you like that picture, I like it already, and all I've seen is just a picture of a picture. Congratulations on your win! :-)
ReplyDeleteThat's a great picture; just right for you and your home. Congrats on the cute cards, too.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your finds and your win! The dog in the picture looks like an old style farm collie.
ReplyDeleteI would have purchased the painting, too. It is so peaceful.
ReplyDeleteThe collie is beautiful. I can get immersed in scenes like that.
ReplyDeleteThe cards are darling.
What a fun summer post! I really like the painting. I'm also a Gene Autry fan. In third grade I got into a fight with a girl who said that Trigger was a better horse than Champion.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your lovely gift. I like the picture of the collie and who in the world wasn't a Gene Autry fan? Great find on both items.
ReplyDeleteYou do indeed have a treasure in those cards. Now the problem is sharing them with someone. I have mine under my desk glass. Looking at them makes me smile. I haven’t parted with a one of them ;-)
ReplyDeleteLucky you! Enjoy your lovely gifts!
ReplyDeleteWay to go NCmountainwomen. What that girl said was just WRONG!

I can certainly see why the little painting called your name. I love the thrill of the hunt. If I find one thing, I count that as a good day. You had a great one.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the sweet little painting and the gift prize in the mail! Doesn't that just make your day? It is true. If you have started to collect anything--the minute you tell yourself you are done and that's enough--more will pop up right in your path. ;)
ReplyDeleteBlogging on the couch before I fall asleep while watching tv. A good cup of coffee make my life complete right now. I like all your new finds. My wife was a Gene Autry fan. That would be fun to collect.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great paintin' girl! Yeah for Far Guy!!! I sneaked outta blogcation to say howdy and see if your havin' a bang~up summer.
ReplyDeleteOh how I remember Gene Autry...I almost wore out the Big Rock Candy Mountain record when I was a wee chick!
God bless ya and have a great summer sweetie! :o)
What wonderful finds ! Yes it is the little things in life that does make each day brighter ! Have a good day !
ReplyDeleteIt's the fun stuff that makes us smile that brightens our days a bit more. Nice items!
ReplyDeleteGreat little painting! Iris (our BC) is headed to the fair tonight. She's going to try to prove she's the best behaved dog in the county ;-).
ReplyDeleteHOW COOL! I love Sara's work! Lucky you! The collie that watches over the land...CHANCE is like that for you, no wonder you liked the painting!!!

The cards are so pretty...right up my alley with the farm and the animals. Does she make them to sell? It is so fun to get things in the mail. I even like a few junk catalogs once in awhile.
ReplyDeleteI love your picture. It looks old and there's something about the way they painted back then and the landscape that reminds me of "the old days". Of course, the collie helps too! How sweet of Far Guy.
Don't get me started on Gene Autry! When I was a kid it was Saturday mornings on my horse, Wild Fire (actually the arm of the sofa) watching Gene and Roy and Dale and the Lone Ranger and back in those days the ones in the white hats really DID win! I still want to get some music from The Son's of the Pioneers! Remember them? Well....Happy Trails....till we meet again!
