In May of 1945 a little girl was born. She would be Far Guys big sister but she didn’t know it yet. For almost five years she would be an only child.
Here she is in the summer of 1945 with her parents. She is all bundled up with her hat on even though it looks like a warm Minnesota day. Most likely she smells like baby powder.
Here she is with her baby brother ( Far Guy) in the summer of 1950. She looks quite happy to have a baby brother:)
You know she dropped me on my head!
ReplyDeleteSuch cute pictures! I like her socks with the buckles. My little sister was born in 1950, and I was already seven, so we are all of an age. :-)
ReplyDeleteShe is adorable! (Laughing at Far Guy's comment!)
ReplyDeleteIt is such fun to see these Wistful Wednesday posts.

I think back in those days, parents thought it was healthy to bundle up babies even in the summer. My mother always urged me to put a hat on my babies. Just love those pix!!
ReplyDeletePeace,
Muff
Great photos. Long ago, I hoisted up my little brother and set him on the kitchen counter while I got him a drink. He fell off and had to get three stitches under his chin. So I believe Far Guy when he says his sister dropped him!
ReplyDeleteHow did you get your signature onto those photos? I just happened to be browsing through my blog list today and discovered I've had a LOT of visits to one particular photo. I should prob'ly learn how to add a signature mark...
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing...and giving Far Guy some fodder for comment. Miss you guys.
She was his little mother!
ReplyDeleteGreat to imagine the stories with the pictures. Sibling relationships at this age are a guess. Our parents tell us what went on. When our parents are gone the stories die.
ReplyDeleteAlthough my childhood was full of constant terror, I had a big brother who dearly loved me. There is NOTHING like a brother.
ReplyDeleteSo precious! I love to see photos of us old gals when we were little.
ReplyDeleteI bet youtook special care of that little brother!
Great photos! Times were so different then.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thursday, lady! Hope you are still feeling better. :)
Ah - I love those black and white shots. Nostalgia! Hope you're feeling better.
ReplyDeleteGene was SO cute as a baby!
