This must be the year of the Fox. In the past week we observed two foxes. The fox population must be on the rise. Luckily I had my camera ready.
This one looked healthy..well more healthy than the one with the bum leg. The pups if they have any should be out and about soon. A Red Fox can have between five and ten pups.
Chance waited to bark until I said “Okay, I have the photo.” What a good boy he is when we are out and about! :)
Good dog! Good picture.
ReplyDeleteHe's a pretty one. Or she. And Chance is one in a million. :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty fox . Nice photo ! Good boy Chance , Have a great day !
ReplyDeleteGood Boy, Chance. Very nice picture of the fox. We have a couple around here, but I've only seen them when it was dark outside.
ReplyDeleteTHis reminds me that I need to find our resident fox. Great photo. Notshy could use the "quiet" lesson.
ReplyDeleteThat's a fine photograph - and a fine fox as well.
ReplyDeleteThat is a well trained dog! Good boy, Chance! Adorable fox!
ReplyDeleteYou did good with that shot and Chance did BETTER waiting to bark at him. That is super hard for such a protective boy.
ReplyDeleteWe had fox kits here last year. Thanks for the info about when they come out. We'll have to watch for them.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad that you had your camera and that Chance was patient!
Beautiful shot!
ReplyDeleteChance is one beautifully trained dog, so nice to hear about him....maybe he could come over for a visit and teach our neighbours dog a few tricks.
ReplyDeleteI can't remember ever getting to see a fox, other then in photos.

There are certain things that border collies just won't do unless you say it is ok to do. They do like to pleas. They are really such good dogs.
ReplyDeleteGood Chance!
ReplyDeleteChance is such an accomplished photographer's assistant!
ReplyDeleteThat's really neat about Chance. :o)
ReplyDeleteGreat photo, too.
That was a great shot! Usually as soon as they see movement they are gone so fast!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful animal... our son in Colorado said there was one in their yard the other day -- I hope he got a picture; meanwhile thanks for yours. I don't think there are any foxes in Florida , at least I haven't heard about them. And surely not in the RV Park where we live when we're here ;>)
ReplyDeleteWow!!! I was impressed with Chance before but now I really am. Hey, ya think if I sent ya my wildly spastic Pepper Nipper she'd be as obedient when she returned? Heeeheehehe!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's one great shot of Mr. Fox!
God bless and have a splendid day my friend! :o)
We used to have a lot o foxes around here but then the coyotes moved in and the foxes left. I rather have the foxes !!!
ReplyDeleteBlessings
What a good boy that Chance is!!! We don't have many red fox at all, I've seen one in the last few years. We have plenty of black bear though. I really don't want to get a picture of one!!!
ReplyDeletethe fox population seems to be up and down. We saw a litter of pups last week. Chance let you take a very good photo
ReplyDeleteWow! Great photo! Chance is a super smart dog.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great shot.
ReplyDeleteI have yet to see a fox in the wild. One of my birding buddies saw two last week -- and I've lived here 40 plus years and never seen one.
ReplyDeleteNice shot there!
We have several kits here this year. They should have a feast since the DOW has now planted wild turkeys, chuckers and quail in our area.

Aren't they gorgeous? We have them here too and one night there was one on my front porch. There's something that has made a bed in some weeds in the middle of my "landscaping project". It's quite a big bed and they're gone in the morning. I think that might be a deer though. I have to close the windows at night else my "girls" would be barking all night long with all the critters around here.
