We began Halloween up in Northern Minnesota at Jen and Andy's. I made the boys dress up in their costumes for me in the morning before we left. Yes, Adam still needs socks..and yes, Jen and Andy made the Pumpkin Snake. It took 16 or 17 pumpkins!
Jens favorite Holiday is Halloween..she has fun with the decorating and the carving of the pumpkins.
We headed home because we knew our usual 8 to10 trick or treaters would show up.
We were visited by Ironman, Sleeping Beauty, a Butterfly, a Ninja ( I think), the Karate Kid (maybe), a Veternarian, a Sack Monster ( a totally organic costume), a Pink Witch (she forgot her hat), a Purple Witch and a Lamb.
Chance did not like wearing my hat and my scarf but he did enjoy all the children that visited us! A few of them even played ball with him!
It was reasonably warm (40 degrees F) here in Minnesota for a lovely Halloween evening. No one had to be real bundled up and no snow boots were needed:)
I like the sack monster! We had our three! We are just too way back there in the country!

ReplyDeleteDang, I had my candy ready...both nights and didn't get spooked once! I adore the pumpkin snake, I've never seen one before.

Chance is a very long suffering pooch, as you can see from that picture, LOL! Love the little ones' costumes.
ReplyDeleteIt's so fun to see the kids. Love Jen's pumpkin snake. Maybe I'll have to try that if I grow my own pumpkins next year. Love the beer post too. Wish I could have tried them. Maybe Steve would have liked to also. Aubrey was real chatty when they were here.

ReplyDeleteA few years ago we got down to no trick or treaters coming. Hardly any little ones left in this area, and too far between houses. I went out and bought mini chocolate bars for half price this morning. Doesn't that mean they only have half the calories too? I'll try not to eat more than 20 a day:(

ReplyDeleteI had to ask some of the older trick or treaters what they were supposed to be. They didn't put much effort into it -- like put on a headband and say you're a hippy. What's the fun of that?
ReplyDeleteThis is always the time of year when the snow flies upcountry in Armstrong. So I guess I should learn to be prepared for that.

ReplyDeleteToo fun, too fun, too fun! I am diggin' the punkin' snake, I will have to copy next year! I ended up carving all by myself as Dirt was being a butcher for Halloween and needed Bet and Kai's help, and my little buddy burned out on carving after the four hundredth question, two of which went unanswered by the stumped grandma. I was visited by a Balut Egg and a Skeleton. Then with a Chicken, Dirt and I (a Hippy Construction Worker who's dad owns the company) took them back to town and visited Red Riding Hood and Golfer from the olden days to trick or treat in the children's neighborhood (Grandpa and Grandma and Auntie Bet live out in the country you know) Fun, fun, fun! Fun!
