We are very fortunate that my baby brother has taken over mowing and trimming the lawn.
It looks really good! We have gotten lots of rain so it is really growing!Yesterday I tried the shower upstairs...it worked great, but the shower chair is very upright so I ordered a different one. I have to remember to take my picker-upper with me as I dropped the shampoo and then the bath soap. I wash my hair in the shower...good thing Jen gave me a hair cut and thinned it all out!
I washed a load of laundry and got it in the dryer...again the picker-upper came in handy. Not being able to bend over to pick stuff up is a pain in the butt. I put some "stuff" away properly and had a good long nap.
Far Guy is still feeling rotten from the Cancer meds.
My baby brother and his bride, Baxter and Smudge came by to visit outdoors in the afternoon!

I hope FG is feeling more like himself soon. I'm praying for him, and for you every day.
ReplyDeleteContinuing to pray for you both. Thankful you have family close by to check on you and help out. RHill, TX
ReplyDeleteOh Connie...wish there was something I could do to help out! I'll be praying for you both!!

You are lucky to have your brother. I had three and all are gone. Brothers will help you when you need it. Always there when called on. I miss mine.
ReplyDeleteIs climbing the stairs difficult? I’m always curious.
No stairs are okay as long as I go one step at a time and slowly:)
DeleteIt took a while before I figured out what a picker upper is. Yes, I know . I'm slow.
ReplyDeleteThat must be Smudge in the photo. He's a mere shadow. :-)
ReplyDeleteI used my grabber, or "picker-upper" a lot, still do now and then.
ugh - you reminded me I have to get out and do mine. We haven't had a tonne of rain, just enough to keep it green, but it does seem to suck up the humidity and grow, grow, grow!
ReplyDeleteHappily, it only takes me about 30 minutes to do front and back - and that gets shorter every time I expand a garden, lol!
Those picker-upper gadgets are very handy. Keep on napping and healing - both of you!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad your brother is there to help.
ReplyDeleteSorry the medication is so hard on FarGuy. I still hope it is doing what it needs to.
ReplyDeleteGrabbers can save the day. I hope you get to feeling better soon, too.
It's a real blessing to have Baby Brother! The lawn looks good. I use a picker-upper to reach things I can't. It's a good, handy tool.
ReplyDeleteI have a really really long set of bbq tongs and a picker upper. I couldn't live without them. I was surprised how hard it was to get used to a shower chair.
ReplyDeleteSo nice to have help! How do you like the new hairdo? I bet it is easier to manage.
ReplyDeleteIt is easier to wash and dry:)
DeleteI'm so glad you have help. With both of you down having someone help is a blessing.
ReplyDeleteGlad to read that you have a picker upper to use. They are so handy. I have one too. When I bought it, I got it so I could reach stuff on upper shelves in the kitchen without climbing, but to be honest, it works for other things too...picking things up from the floor, etc. But one time, I have a window shade that got away from me and it wound itself up around the rod. So... more out of curiosity, I grabbed my grabber and tested my grabbing skills to see if I could pull it down without climbing. It worked! I was able to grab the rod inside the hem and pull the shade down where I wanted it to be,
ReplyDeleteI am so glad out have family nearby. It makes a world of difference.
My husband has to use a reacher. I have learned to use it, too; it's come in handy more than once. A good supportive family is a blessing.
ReplyDeleteI have two picker-uppers. Each one has a different sort of grabber. We bought them when
ReplyDeleteTom needed them and I have kept them. We always called them "grabbers". When Tom teased me he called them a "Grab Her".
Yay for helpful brothers...and picker-uppers!
ReplyDeleteYour brother is doing a great job of mowing...he's learned much from you.
ReplyDeleteA picker-upper is a handy thing to have around. I can't remember which house mine has ended up. Now I need to look. :)
How nice that you're getting help with your lawn. Glad your picker-upper is working well.
ReplyDeletePraying that far guy is feeling better soon. diane in northern wis
We took the back off from the shower chair we got for the very same reason, it made things harder and not easier.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like someone in the scheduling dept at PT really screwed up. Argh and Uffdah.
I like the shorter hair, it is easier to deal with. I try to keep mine short and need to keep hubby's more manageable too.
