This is a week of medical appointments...six of them. Three were accomplished on Monday and Tuesday. We made the drive Up North (2 1/2 hours) for a blood draw for Far Guy on Monday. During the night a horrid UTI made it impossible to sleep...so I went to Urgent Care as soon as they opened...got meds and I will recover. Tuesday Far Guy saw his Oncologist Dr B and the tumor has shrunk by 50% !!! The cancer medication is being decreased in the hope that the side effects will be tolerable and it will still work at decreasing the size of the tumor. We see Dr B every two weeks, he is very encouraged by the progress in just the last two weeks. We drove back home to the woods after the appointment.
Sadie was happy to see us, Jen and Andy made supper for us on Monday night...burgers and corn on the cob and then Andy made lunch for us before we left. Andy and Jen are so good to us we are blessed to have them in our family!
We also got to see Maddie and Baby K for a bit!

ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful news about Far Guy, Jen, and Andy!
ReplyDeleteI hope your UTI clears up soon.
Kind regards and strength.
Such good news on the shrinkage of the tumor. Will continue to pray.
ReplyDeleteThat is good news but sad news that FG is so sick with the treatment. Uffdah.
ReplyDeleteGlory hallelujah! About time you got some good news. Did you have to drive the 2and 1/2 hours? This isn’t good therapy for your back. What to do. Just keep pushing on.
ReplyDeleteYes I drove we stop to stretch!
DeleteThere is just nothing like getting the news that the tumors have shrunk. Wonderful news. Hope it will continue with the lowered dose. I will be praying.
ReplyDeleteI promise that my prayers will continue for FG on this journey he is on. So thankful that the tumor has shrunk... Praising God for this. So sorry about the UTI....those things make you feel miserable. Glad that your busy week with doctor's appointments is halfway done. Weeks like that can sure make a person feel exhausted. Big hugs to you Connie...
ReplyDeleteWill keep praying for you both. RHill, TX
ReplyDeleteGood news! :-D
ReplyDeleteThat is really encouraging news! My prayers will continue. Hopefully a decrease in medication will make a positive impact on how he feels.
ReplyDeleteThis is a hard road you're traveling right now. Prayers that you both feel better and can trust in God for His will to be done. Linda from imagesisee.blogspot.com
ReplyDeletePraise God for that immediate response - amazing! Praying for continuing shrinkage of tumor and better tolerance to med. Hope you’re continuing to improve, Connie.
ReplyDeletePraise God for the good report about Far Guy, Connie!! Wheee!!! Now let's hope for more shrinkage & the disappearance of your UTI. Prayers will continue. And God bless Jen & Andy!!!!! Love, Andrea xoxo
ReplyDeleteYAY! My prayers are continuing for both of you!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteWonderful news about the tumour. The meds are working, and I hope the half dose continues to provide good results, and his side effects are reduced.
ReplyDeleteYou've had some good news and some bad news. I hope you get to the stage where everything is good news.
ReplyDeleteSo very sorry you have one more medical issue to deal with but very thankful you were able to get into the doctor's office for meds so very, very quickly. Super thankful and praising God with you that FG's tumor is fifty percent less. Praying the side effects do decrease.
ReplyDeleteYou all are in one of those difficult seasons of life that you are being flooded with medical issues - - - everything happening at once instead of being spread out. Generally it is one or the other spouse having a recovery time but not both together. Your readers are thankful you have Jen's family and siblings helping you with the extra stuff - - - like meals and yard work, etc.
I sure was happy to see you post good news! So happy that Gene's cancer is slowing down, hope it all goes away. For the UTI, if you like cranberry juice, it is very good for that.
ReplyDeleteWonderful news! I hope the decrease in the medication helps him feel better. UTI, I'm sooo sorry.
ReplyDeleteThis was really good news, brought tears to my eyes! :) Hoping Far Guy starts to get some relief of symptoms and the good things continue. Praying! You both take care.
ReplyDeleteSending all the good healing vibes we can muster!!! So glad there is a little progress!
ReplyDeleteThat is the best news ever! Now maybe a smaller dose won't make him so sick. Still praying and thinking positive healing thoughts...for you both.
ReplyDeleteSorry you got a UTI. I only had one once decades ago...until the bladder surgery and all. Now it seems like I can get them so easily. Grrr! I hope you feel better quickly.
Praise the Lord for answered prayers!
ReplyDeleteHallelujay Praise the Lord! We'll keep right on praying. We also have him (and you) on the prayer chains at both the Spokane and Omaha churches. Lots of prayer.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you're dealing with a UTI now too. It's too much.
Jen and Andy are such blessings to you both.
Blessings and love,
Betsy
Wonderful words to hear - The tumor is shrinking!
ReplyDeleteSo glad the tumor has shrunk....and the meds can be decreased so perhaps he'll feel better. Ugh about the UTI - I just had one out of the blue and thankfully got meds almost immediately, although the 2nd days was the worst I have ever experienced. More prayers coming...
