April Fools Snow

A number of years ago we had 18 inches of snow on April 1st...how do I recall??  It is Great Nephew Mason's birthday and we walked over to help celebrate his birthday because the snow was too deep to drive in.  Mason was maybe 6 or 7 years old back then...today he is 20...hardly seems possible!   Happy Birthday Mason!

We are supposed to be getting a Winter storm beginning Tuesday afternoon going all the way into Thursday.  We have to travel on Tuesday so hopefully that is all said and done before the storm begins.

My Dad's car in the snow a long time ago.

Perhaps Old Man Winter wants one last reminder of Winter before he yields to Spring. We can always hope.

We had a salad for supper...with some baked chicken and raspberries.

  1. Hopefully your forecast will be worse than the actual weather!
I love salads and could eat them about every other day but that doesn't appeal as much to my husband who was raised on Southern foods. However I make sure he gets good vegetables and/or fruit every day.

  2. It seems we never know with spring storms how much snow there will end up being. Snow is better than ice or ice underneath, though. I hope you will be good to drive for your appointments. Happy birthday to Mason. :)

  3. I am just now learning that we may have a bad weather day mid-week. I had no idea. Thank goodness for winter fun activities, ha ha!

  4. We got that snowstorm yesterday. Hopefully that is the last of it and things warm up!

  8. We have about an inch of new snow this morning, but it's that wet spring kind of snow and the trees are dripping with melting snow. Evidently the roads around us, and extending way north - there is ice and slush and snow covering them.

  9. The temps are chilly here, but thankfully we avoided the big ice storm, and so far no snow. I hope it stays that way!

  10. Snow forecast down here, too. Hope it works out for your trip.

  11. Most of Wyoming would welcome a good Spring snow as it’s been a dry Winter. The last three mornings, the ground has been covered (1inch) but it quickly melts when the sun pops up,

  12. Snowing here. Hard wind and very cold. Sigh

  13. Happy birthday Mason.
It's cooler today but we hardly ever get snow.

  14. Happy Birthday Mason! Today would have been my parents 81 wedding anniversary. It doesn't seem possible. They were married during WWII in 1944.
The wind is howling here right now. It has been the windiest month I can ever remember.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  15. We woke to more snow today...some April Fool's joke. :( I shovelled out the back parking pad and sidewalk. But we're leaving the front, for now at least, hoping Mother Nature will do work.
    Happy Birthday to Mason.

  16. Hopefully the snow doesn't amount to much and you can drive safely.

  20. That's not a funny April Fool's joke! We had a high of 41 today and tomorrow will be 70. Then back to the 30's and 40's. It's the time of year I have 3 coats on the backs of my dining room chairs, light, medium and parka.
