We should be all moved back in the woods by the time you read this.
Far Guy needs to be at a different Infusion Center. The Infusion he has been getting doesn't allow him to get completely over the exacerbation he has been dealing with. The proper infusion is available at our local small hospital infusion center...but not at the fancy big hospital ( they say it is a shortage or a distribution problem).
We will have to travel back and forth to a few medical appointments for the next couple of weeks.
Thankful that we don't use an outhouse or a woodpile anymore and the Fox would just kill the geese.

All the appointments....goodness, I hear you! But I just put my running shoes on and get it done...The alternative isn't so good for our guys.

I love the picture. I grew up with a wood pile and outhouse plus two water buckets to carry to the spring for water. Not very good memories.
Well, it is worth it for him to get what he needs. I'm sorry this has been such an ordeal. He deserves the best.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you arrived safely back home. How crazy that the small hospital can get that infusion and not the big one!! Your photo triggered a childhood memory - my parents' friends had geese and I was terrified of them. They would chase me, honk, and nip at me with those big beaks. LOL

ReplyDeleteThe outhouse was part of our farm life, but we had a chemical toilet indoors so I don't recall actually using it. Neat picture!
Welcome home! I hope this works out for FG. My grandma refused indoor plumbing in her house in her house, so there was an outhouse, a slop pail for nighttime, and a pump house. She did have electricity so the pump was electric. A wood pile because she had a wood cookstove in the kitchen.

ReplyDeleteAccording to the infusion nurse where I have my treatments every six weeks, they are having trouble getting some supplies because both manufacturers of the product were based in the south and were damaged by the hurricanes earlier this year.

ReplyDeleteI bet you will sleep better in your own beds, but it sure is sad to be leaving your family sooner than planned. How silly is it that the local hospital has the right infusion, but the larger big city hospital doesn't? I will cross my fingers this new infusion takes care of what is ailing him! We need to get him all healthy and happy so you two can take Tilly to some shows this summer. And now you can keep us updated on signs of spring at the log house.

ReplyDeleteGlad FarGuy will be able to get the proper infusions! Our medical system makes no logical sense sometimes. It will be nice to be home, but too bad you'll have to drive so far for other appointments for a little while. Be worth it, though, to get the better infusions. I hope you are feeling better. You will both miss Sadie. ;)

ReplyDeleteBigger medical facilities have disappointed many of us I am sure. I could tell you tales of what we went through with my mom's care at one of the best hospitals in Albany, NY but no one wants to go back and relive those days twenty-five years ago.

ReplyDeleteLD....When I was young on the farm we had an old traditional farmer nearby. One could always see the old farm geese walking around in rows headed somewhere. I am sure all of the buildings are gone now and maybe even the farmhouse. That was sixty years ago.
