Rain turned to snow in the early morning hours on November 20th. We have enough to almost cover the grass.
Isn't it beautiful? At least some of the brown is covered up with white. I shoveled off the walk. Typically it snows three times before the snow stays...we will see what happens...our weather forecast looks like wintery temperatures for the rest of November.
Jen sent a photo of Sadie in the snow...they got more snow Up North than we did.
Looks like she walked outside on the patio and laid down. I am sure she was racing around like a wild girl before long.
I had a sorting day...sorted out some more "stuff" and labeled a bunch of photos. I also cleaned out the old toy box...threw some old hiking boots out and began a donation pile for scarfs and hats no longer worn. I tried to clear some odds and ends or "I will get to it later" stuff off my desk. I was partially successful.
Far Side
Our dogs get all giddy when we let them out to run around in a fresh snow!
ReplyDeletei finally pulled out winter stuff the other day when it was 70...just in time as today it's 52..bye bye summer for now...
ReplyDeleteWe got our first snow today, but a light dusting. I'm purging rooms again too, and have stuff going on in several rooms as once ha ha! It sure feels good to get it in order anyway.
ReplyDeleteEvery little bit counts in sorting. It seems never-ending. We love our tangible memories but they are our memories and our children probably won't care to keep most of them. You are doing a good thing to donate what someone else can use. Some of our chairs on our covered outside deck were donations given to Goodwill that I painted.
ReplyDeleteYour snow is beautiful...I love walking outside and taking in the smell of snow. Sadie seemed to be enjoying her adventure outdoors. You are making great accomplishments with all of your cleaning out...Good for you to get it all done. Labeling photos can be time consuming. I wish my grandparents had taken the time to mark names on family photos....Have a wonderful day...
ReplyDeleteYou got more than we did. I have been the same, partially successful.
ReplyDeleteWinter is a good time for sorting. I do like the look of the first snow, but by the time it has been around for a few days, it doesn't look as pretty. We've got more in the forecast for the weekend. Not thrilled about that, I can tell you.
ReplyDeleteWe got just a dusting of snow. But it came with 40 mph winds.
ReplyDeleteIt's pretty but you can keep it. Ha! Our weather changed drastically yesterday with strong winds bringing in much colder temps. When I took Zoey outside last night it was 32 with a feels like temp of 17F! That's the coldest it's been since last winter. I know it's time for it but I don't have to like it like Sadie seems to. Zoey detests the cold and snow. She tries to burrow in her blankets and not go out until we make her.
ReplyDeleteI hope your day is a wonderful one.
Blessings and hugs,
Betsy
What a great idea! A sorting day! I'm going to give myself one!
ReplyDeleteWe're getting a mix of snow and rain right now. Finally feels like November
ReplyDeleteThe first snow is always bittersweet. Laramie has had two good storms so far, so I guess the next one will stick since the ground has now cooled off sufficiently.
ReplyDeleteThe first real snowfall is always so beautiful. This well might stay this year. The prediction at the moment is not to be above freezing for a couple of weeks! :)
ReplyDeleteSnow is pretty and unusual enough here that when it comes wafting down I grab a coffee and just sit and watch. Every year Youngest Son is on stand-by for snow removal. He really looks forward to it ( it helps that he's paid more for that job than any other he's ever had!!).
ReplyDeleteGM
Yes, your snow does look pretty but I suppose it won't be very long before you will be wishing it gone again :)
ReplyDeleteWe've had snow here today and I think it's here to stay.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful snowy photo with the trees!!! And Sadie's pose...looking toward the camera... is fun! You got more snow that we did but the plow did apparently need to come up our driveway....at zero dark thirty!!!
ReplyDeleteGoodnight Gram
Snow looks really cold. Guess you used that snow shovel.
ReplyDeleteWe woke up to snow, too! Earlier this week I didn't even need to wear a coat. I will just be happy when Mother Nature picks a season and stays with it.
ReplyDeleteGee you guys got snow. We haven't seen a flurry yet. Sure need it for winter tourist season up here, even though I hate driving in it if it's icy. Don't slip and fall. Take good care you two.
ReplyDeleteYes winter is here! Time to do all those indoor things that get put off during the summer.
ReplyDeletewe had a covering of snow yesterday, too. And temp down to at least 28 at one point in the early morning. Streets are totally clear, but our yard still has some.
