We had our second snow on late Sunday night/early Monday morning. We now have about two inches of the white stuff.
See all those tracks in the snow? Something was having a party around the bird feeder.
This is a photo of the security camera. They sure had fun and emptied out one side of the feeder. I suspect the five squirrels that showed up enjoyed a bit of that spilled seed too.
We made a list for errands in town and as we left the yard the smaller deer was watching us from the edge of the woods...I suppose he/she wanted a morning snack.
Town was fine the Turkey is thawing in the fridge and the rest of the groceries were purchased for a simple meal on Thanksgiving Day. Turkey, mashed potatoes, GF gravy, GF Green Beans with sour cream and onion potato chips on top instead of the onion rings with gluten, corn, olives, pickles and Snickers salad. Guests are bringing GF stuffing and GF cake. There will be more than enough food!
Far Side
sounds delish....i'll be having very traditional plus boiled onions as we do in new england...yummm!
ReplyDeleteI do bet the animals enjoyed their feast and the deer was coming back for second helpings
ReplyDeleteSounds like a yummy Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeletehugs

Sounds like a feast. Happy Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteYou know I had to google Snickers salad, right? I've never heard of it, but it does sound interesting.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving!
Awe....such cute cute visitors...I so enjoy seeing the wildlife... You have a great meal plan full of some YUMMY dishes. I went to the BUSY grocery store yesterday...Now I need to get busy.
ReplyDeleteYou are gluten free? I did this for two years, thinking my intestinal issues were from glutne. Turns out, they weren't. It's not difficult to do.
ReplyDeleteOur guests are Gluten Free and one is dairy free and a vegetarian:)
DeleteBeautiful visitors! How fun! It sounds like you're ready for the big day. I have my 23 lb turkey thawing in the fridge too. Alex and family arrived late last night. I haven't seen them yet but they are on their way to pick me up as we speak. Dennis took Alex to return the rental car awhile ago. Most of our time will be spent at Mandy's because, 1) There are more toys, 2) Baby J's hero Piper is there, 3) They have lots more room.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait.
Blessings,
Betsy
You are doing great with Thanksgiving preparations! I have to put the menu to paper today. It will be a smaller group this year with the older daughter. We usually go with the younger daughter's family's in-laws and our grands but opted to switch it up this year. We did celebrate with that group this past weekend for birthday celebrations so we will have seen them all by the end of the week.
ReplyDeleteWe've kept all your snow. Sask has had two dumps of one foot. Churches were closed on Sunday.
ReplyDeleteQuite the party at your bird feeders! LOL Our younger daughter and her hubbie are hosting Thanksgiving again this year. I'm so glad the younger generation has taken over the big holidays. All 11 of us will be there - unless Jerilyn gets called into work. She's on call Thursday. I'm assigned veggies and dips, and deviled eggs. I also have 2 bottles of wine set aside to take. But I do miss the huge extended family gatherings too.
ReplyDeleteLooks like the deer had a feast! And it sounds like you will be having one as well!
ReplyDeleteI'm ready also. We go to one of our daughters. (YAY) I was IN charge of deserts---gf all the way for us also---Terry, Misty, and Linkin all Gluten Intolerant for the last 20 years. (Sure can be hard at times, but thankfully more and more people are supporting food allergies)
ReplyDeleteSounds like a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner!
ReplyDeleteLove seeing who was stealing the bird seed. ;)
Your Thanksgiving meal sounds wonderful. I’m headed to Denver to see my sister and celebrate with her family.
ReplyDeleteOur Thanksgiving will be the traditional BBQ smoked turkey, savory stuffing, mashed potatoes with smoky turkey gravy, cranbery sauce, yams, and which ever vegetable Jill has decided on. Tom does the turkey, Jan does the yams, Irene does the cranberry sauce, and this year Jill will do the rest of the cooking. I will make the pies and berry cobbler.
ReplyDeleteWe will eat wella and be grateful.
The deer had their Thanksgiving a few days early! Your menu sounds so good. Turkey, if very well done) is pretty well the only meat I'll eat and your sides sound delish. GD Kate's partner always gets a big turkey and Christmas and they host the meal on the 25th. I'm looking forward to that. GM
ReplyDeleteThat’s a bird feeders nightmare right there.
ReplyDeleteThe better type of night visitor
ReplyDeleteI do like the snow.
ReplyDeleteMy security cam is stuck in Canada Post somewhere!!!
Happy US Thanksgiving.
Quite the feast coming up! I find that most people I know with security cameras actually use them as wildlife cameras. Even in town, ours is an overnight feed of raccoons and the occasional skunk crossing our front porch. Meanwhile my neighbor's across the street catches the deer in my driveway.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great feast! Hope you all have a terrific time together. Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh....I kept trying to figure out what the GF stood for! LOL! It finally dawned on me. It all sounds yummy!
ReplyDeleteThe deer are having their own Thanksgiving feast apparently!
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving, hope you all have a wonderful time- certainly the meal will be great!
