I pulled some yarn from my "stash" for my next project. I am not quite ready to begin yet....but soon.
Not sure about the Sunshine Yellow yet...it is a bit in your face. The theme is Fall. The off white color (Stone) will be the background color and the designs will be colorful.
I inventoried all my Stylecraft yarn the other day and made yarn color pegs so I have no doubt about colors after Far Guy winds the yarn into balls.
I still have a bit to finish on my Costa Nova...but it is coming along. Costa Nova is a mosaic crochet pattern, I used a size 3.5 hook and Sheepjes cotton yarn.
The green houses and the colorful bobbers are finished...off to the next two parts...waves or maybe they are fish hooks? and whales.
Far Side
Your mosaic crochet pattern is great... I like it very much, both the beautiful pattern and the colors... wonderful Costa Nova :-)))
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoy working with your newly chosen yarn...nice colours.
Greetings from Viola.
Your Costa Nova looks gorgeous to me.
ReplyDeleteThe Costa Nova will be beautiful when it is finished.
ReplyDeleteIt's so pretty, and I really do like that yellow, which makes me think of you. :-)
ReplyDeleteYour colorwork is beautiful on this current project. Great job! I think I agree that the bright yellow is maybe too bright for that next project. Maybe a more mellow gold would work.
ReplyDeleteYour work always amazes me. I crochet and I can't even begin to imagine how the Costa Nova is created with a hook. (And I'm too afraid to look at a pattern as it might overwhelm me).
ReplyDeleteThe yarn for your new project is very pretty!
Costa Nova is beautiful. I don’t know what you’re planning for the next project, but if you’re doubting the yellow, audition a gold with the other colors.
ReplyDeleteThe afghan looks awesome so far - I love those little houses.
ReplyDeleteThat is something BEAUTIFUL!!!!
ReplyDeletePretty, pretty, pretty, Connie! And for the record, I think the yellow yarn will add just the perfect splash of color in whatever you decide to crochet next. ~Andrea xoxo
ReplyDeleteMy immediate thought was how much I like the yellow! You are quite skilled.
ReplyDeleteYou sound like you feel better. You have enthusiasm for projects! Your work is so beautiful. You have the patience of a saint and great perseverance to complete these lengthy projects.
ReplyDeleteI have never heard of the Costa Nova pattern style before your posting of it. It is an absolute impressive crochet pattern. The end results are great. I do like the bobbers.
ReplyDeleteThat yellow just sets off everything else in the basket. Cover it up and it looks dull. If you have a shade a bit more gold that might work. but I like bright!
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYour Fall yarn colors are beautiful. And that mosaic is just awesome. Wow...you are so talented. I love seeing the things you create!
ReplyDeleteI really like the yellow with those other colors. Costa Nova is also looking amazing. I've never enjoyed colorwork at all but I can appreciate the work and time committment when I see others' projects.
ReplyDeleteI sure hope you're feeling better now. I haven't had time for a post in well over a week. Mom's stuff is all-consuming and we fall into bed exhausted every night just to start over the next day. The house is on the market and showings have literally been almost non-stop yesterday and today. All offers are to be in by tomorrow afternoon so hopefully there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Then we have to make a decison, to move or not. Everything is SO expensive right now. I would like a condo that we can lock up and leave to travel if we want. Dennis wants a small yard and garage. Hmmmmm.
Blessings,
Betsy
It's all looking very nice!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing your work. I’m wondering what the strip will be when it is finished but
ReplyDeleteI think you are keeping that for a surprise finish! I have done a stitch of needlework this summer. I don’t want it in my lap when it’s so hot.
I helped decorate for a dance as a freshman in high school. I was in charge to do the decorations and I hung all of those colors of crepe paper in an orderly fashion. Similar with the bright yellow and a bright orange. I really liked them all together. Almost 60 years later I can still hear Doris Beebe telling my brother who was a senior that that was what I chose. She of course shrugged in disbelief. I do like lots of color.
ReplyDeleteI love what ypou're doing on that Costa Nova! I find the pattern of each row very interesting. I also love those muted colors... but that ball of bright yellow yarn - I love it!!
