It has been four years today since Chance died. We miss him every day.
It doesn't get easier...but it gets easier to deal with the grief that sneaks up on you from time to time.
We remember the good times and how devoted he was to both of us old farts...when he loved little kids so very much.
How patient he was with my photography...most of the time.
How happy he was playing ball. There is a You Tube Video of Chance. Hopefully the link works.
He was a once in a lifetime dog.
Far Side
Great video. I know you both miss him.
ReplyDeleteIt's tough losing a pet. I know.
ReplyDeleteYes, he was. I still miss him and enjoy seeing him on your blog. I never knew him in person but that doesn't mean I loved him any less. Thanks for the memory of a sweet soul.
ReplyDeleteSo nice to see photos of him again. Each animal is a once in a lifetime one but some are really close to us, aren't they.
ReplyDeleteThey never live long enough. :'''''-( Chance was beautiful. ~Andrea xoxo
ReplyDeleteThe saying, Dogs come into our lives and leave pawprints on our hearts, rings true. Thankfully happy memories overshadow the sad ones with our pets.
ReplyDeleteSniff sniff. No words.
ReplyDeleteThe link does work. What a beautiful set of pics. I, too, like the majority or all your readers loved your posts about him. He truly was a one of a kind dog - - - a rare breed of personality that those who get to experience it are super blessed. Part of his sweetness and fun was because of his owners!
ReplyDeleteLoved your photos. We miss our pets so much when they leave us. Chance was so special...
ReplyDeleteThe video is touching, a sweet boy. They stay in our hearts.
ReplyDeleteHappy/Sad memories. Chance was a very special dog.
ReplyDeleteSuch wonderful pet companions are indeed rare. Hugz xx
ReplyDeleteHe was such a sweetie.
ReplyDeleteGreat video! He was the most loved dog and most photographed too. He was so good at being a border collie and loved life to the fullest. He was such a handsome guy.
ReplyDeleteI had to look it up to be sure but we lost our border collie eight months later. It is funny how the most simplest things can bring up a memory.
ReplyDeleteI feel pretty much the same way - missing Sammy still after 2 years. He was a good cat and we had him for 19 years.
ReplyDeleteI totally understand.
ReplyDeleteAh memories of Chance, I remember well! And enjoyed all of your posts about him. I agree "once in a lifetime" describes him well. Those who have pets, love pets know what you mean - those special pets that become our companions and guardians!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful dog he was. I'm so glad you had those years with him.
ReplyDeleteI just read DJan's brother's story about his recently departed dog, and now this remembrance of Chance. It makes me sad, but it's a sweet sadness.
ReplyDeletePeace be with you.
He was such a lovely dog in all ways. Dogs sure do hold a special place in our hearts even when they are long gone. I hope Chance, and Tess and Merle are all waiting for us on the other side.
ReplyDeleteHe is beautiful! I still miss all my dogs, but I miss Fuzzy and Boomer the most. Although, it is good to have little Boo Berry now.
ReplyDeleteAw, Chance was such a good boy and so photogenic. Too bad our four-legged friends spend such a brief time with us. Bob is going to leave a big hole in our life … too soon.
ReplyDeleteI miss Chance too. He was a very special dog. {{{hug}}}
ReplyDeleteYou sure know how to make a gal cry....for all the losses. Happy Birthday Chance.
ReplyDeleteSince I so recently lost Annie and still miss her...and still miss my Karma...your video made me tear up. I am so lucky to have Miss Allie with me now...they are each really special and unique...but some are truly those once in a lifetime souls. Chance was your handsome, loyal, once in a lifetime companion.
ReplyDeleteAwwww..he was such a good dog! I know how hard it is...how you wish you could have had more time. I miss my girl every day, and I am sure I will 4 years from now too. I get my dog hits from friends with dogs. But it's not the same. Today I parked outside a dog park and just watched people play with their dogs. It was hard. I left after awhile because it just made me feel more sad.
