It rained …just like summertime. The wind blew…Mother Nature was not happy yesterday. Chance was not happy either, wind moves the tree limbs and twigs might fall from the sky and the snow is shedding off the steel roof…all things that concern an ageing Border Collie who likes everything the same day after day.
We had eight inches of snow at the snow stick. After the rain I don’t know what it says…it was still raining when it got dark.
We saw the sun for a short time on Tuesday and the sunlight nearly blinded us. Even Chance was squinting his eyes.
My positive thought for the day: The sun doesn’t set until after 5 PM…even if we cannot see the sun through the clouds.
You had me laughing at your expense, sorry about that. Your description of the pain-killers wearing off made me do it.
ReplyDeleteBorder collies are such good dogs, but really are fretful when life does not proceed according to plan. What would we do without our faithful dogs to remind us about such things ? ( um, sleep peacefully unaware ? )

ReplyDeleteWe haven't had our January rain. I'm going again to spy on my puppy's and get to know them better...I'm NOT looking forward to the quirks like you're referring to that come with one though.
ReplyDeleteI go today for a cleaning and checkup (god willing) and I am hoping he will say--bye, see you in six months. I don't think it rained, but I am not sure. With all the snow dripping off the balconies onto the ACs it would have been hard to tell. Rain wasn't on my radar. There's an awful lot of soggy brown grass showing this morning, though. :)

ReplyDeleteHere in MPLS we also are having a mild winter with rain and snow off and on and sometimes mixed slush. I am glad that your dental work is done for a while. Here's hoping you won't have any similar experiences for a long time. I am with Chance on the subject of routine. I don't like changes either.

ReplyDeleteA trip to the dentist is not funny, but I'm laughing! That is exactly how Novocaine feels, and I know, having had four shots of the stuff two weeks ago. Glad you are done at the dentist. Poor Chance. I think we all need a break in this weather.

ReplyDeleteWe stayed above freezing last night. I couldn't believe it. I do hear that our future in snow is abominable. I don't want that for sure. I hate dentists and I always wonder why I walk in there freely once I am in the chair.

And scrubbing drawers and sweeping behind the clothes dryer. Good thing I didn't drink coffer to wash down the steroid! Give Chance a rub behind the ears for me.

Hope you are feeling better Connie! We are still trying to dig out from under Three and a half Feet of Snow from this storm last week. No School so far for six days.. no mail..and no one going to work.A Real strange feeling. My husband has only had to use three Vacation days with the Government shut down he would have had to use more. With all the snow on the roof we now have a big leak in our two story Foyer and we can't get on the roof and no one is working anyway. Will be nice when Spring is here.But here in Virginia and WV it's supposed to be 65 degrees on Sunday.

ReplyDeleteI saw the pool man so maybe he fixed the luke warm water,
and cleaned it. We have lots of people that bring grandchildren
to the pool when we don't use it.
I think that is about all that is good about this time of year, and that is the sun not going down until later. Hope you feel better, nothing worse that going to see the dentist. I have four appointments in March for two crowns and one rebuild (tooth broke off).

I imagine the snow falling off your roof is alarming for Chance. Very kind of FG to prepare salmon for you. I wish you all a good night. xo
ReplyDeleteI hate to tell you this but it's been beautiful here. Sunshine and 60's. The girls layed out in the grass (which is not dormant) and they loved it. Glad you got your dental work done and hope that rain doesn't turn to ice!
ReplyDeleteLots of rain here. Reminds me that I need to make a dentist appointment, ugh. I have feeble teeth, so always need fillings or crowns $$$$$$. I was commenting today on the tough border collie here that attacks the vacuum cleaner and then hides in the bedroom when something is sizzling in the hot oil on the stove.
ReplyDeleteBorder collies apparently prefer everything done decently and in order; I can see how that kind of winter weather could be frustrating for Chance.

Chance is a very smart dog! He probably knows that it is a LOT more fun outside when the grass is green!
