The Lupines In Bloom

I have many different colors of Lupines.

Purple Lupines Could you get lost it this purple color?

Perhaps you like peach? Peach Lupines I love the peach.

Pink Lupines Perhaps pink is your passion.

The Lupines must have liked the cool wet spring, or maybe the cool wet summer we are having.  Many new seedlings have emerged this year. Many are still forming buds..you just never can tell what color will bloom next:)

  6. I like them all, and if you keep cutting them, they flower most of the summer. I'm putting them in the bouquets for a long time.

  10. Jealous, jealous, jealous of those beautiful lupines in your garden.

They grow all over the hills around here but not where I plant seeds. I'm going to have to suck it up and buy some starts from a nursery I guess.

  11. I love lupines...both the flowers and the leaves. I heard they could be dangerous for pets, so as long as we had outdoor cats I didn't plant them. Gotta see about getting some now. Yours are fabulous!

  12. The bluish-purple ones grew wild around our house when I was growing up.
    We called them pee-pockets. ;)

Thanks for sharing with us, Far Side. I never knew they came in more than one color. :)

  14. Yours are way ahead of mine..but they do grow well here too...I just started with a few cheap seeds of "wildflowers" they were in and they have self seeded themselves into a HUGE patch now. I think they are really neat. Love the colors of yours.

  15. They are gorgeous. My favorite is the purple. I sometimes think for those of us who live in snow covered climates the flowers are extremely precious because they are so fleeting. Beautiful to see.

  16. The roadsides of the North Shore have these especially near Gooseberry Falls area. We didn't always see them as it depended what the spring weather was as to when they bloomed. The colors are so rich and wonderful. I may have to do a pastel painting of some lupines.

  17. I love your lupines! Especially the peach one! Bet and I are lupine fans. Any plants that I have purchased have not made it to the next season with much success and certainly not the season after that, even though the wild ones around here grow in a variety of conditions. Hoping starting them from seed might change that around.
