Ornaments: New In 2009 #2

Okay..I have been properly scolded.  This evening when Jen called she said “Let me speak to my Father..I want to see if HE remembers me?”

IMG_9246 It seems that this ornament was from her last year.  She gave me some song and dance about how she picked it out especially for me because she knew I would remember it was from her..because she loves bunnies. ( She is fairly good about making me feel guilty.)   I know she loves bunnies..but it is usually me  buying them for her instead of the other way around.  As soon as this ornament sees the light of day..it is still packed away..I am going to mark it on the bottom.  I took five photos of this ornament last year..so I did know it was special last year…and I really like it!

IMG_9292 This one I remember well..I bought it for myself when The World of Christmas went out of business last year. Note the sedate refined colors.

Far Guys ornamentThis is the one that Far Guy picked out for himself.  This is a huge heavy ornament… that has to be supported by a branch..note no color was spared in it’s creation.

Our tree downstairs is always the same ..blue lights and as many of our ornaments with memories as possible.   The table for Wood Carving is still up..so the Christmas tree is not up yet..we still have time:)

  1. What a relief to find out who gave you the bunny ornament...bet it's going to be a long time before Jen lets you live this "CRS" episode down. I also bet if you get anymore from her they will be cleared marked and identified as soon as you receive them.

  2. Hee hee! She does know how to make you feel bad, doesn't she? Wonder who she learned THAT from. :-)

  3. Don't tell her for a while that you just wanted to get a reaction from her and needed something to blog about so said that about not remembering where the ornament came from!
It is odd though the things that either stick or don't in our minds. Things our children remember can be so vivid and have made a huge impression. When they start talking about them, I haven't a clue because that incident was a trivial one to me in a long day years ago.

  4. I think putting up the tree "late" according to others is just fine, but then that's what we do every year. The tree is one of the last things to be added.

  9. I really like the circus wagon too. They are all great ornaments. We have so many memory ornaments too that just keep going back onto the tree. Some have to be repaired. My kids played musical instruments and when they do come home they head for the tree to see if they are on the tree.

  10. I have that CRS too, sometimes, and MY daughter will often say "You TOLD me that twice already!" Or "I told you that before!" Sheeesh! Between daughters and growing older, what chance do we have? A nice bunny ornament, though. I write on the bottom of my ornaments (give them to the kids every year) so they remember as well as me.
