Yesterday Far Guy worked on the wood carved Christmas Ornaments...I joined him in the afternoon. In the morning...I did a whole bunch of "stuff" I had a number of tasks going at once....making Humming Bird food, laundry, clearing off my desk etc...I had a Post It Note nightmare near my computer...recipes and notes to self.
My baby brother and his bride visited in the evening...Smudge and Baxter like visiting here...I have Cheerios for treats:) They brought me more green beans that I will cook up and freeze. (I shall watch them like a hawk)

This photo was taken on his birthday in 1994 when he was 80 years old. That is Far Guy and Jen in the photo. A few weeks later he would die from multi system failure after a surgery. He was a very kind man...he is missed.August 13th was the day my Father In Law was born back in 1914.

Walleye - one of my very favorite fish to eat. Yum! And with Minnesota sweet corn. Double yum!! I sure enjoy seeing the old photos, even when I don't know the people. Still interesting.
ReplyDeleteYou had a busy day. Sweet memories!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you got a lot accomplished. I had a great father-in-law too that is very, very missed. How blessed we are to have such great people in our lives.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy
You are getting lots done. I sometimes feel I am swinging widely unorganized. SIGH
ReplyDeleteWalleye…wondered how you fixed it. Sounds good. I like fish any way just about.
ReplyDeleteBeing kind is a great compliment, I think.
I crush Ritz Crackers and in a separate dish I beat an egg. Dredge in egg roll in cracker crumbs and fry in butter:)
DeleteWe have had sweet corn quite a bit this summer. Slathered in butter with a little salt and pepper! It sure helps to have a large farm that sells peaches, apples, corn, berries meat etc.
ReplyDeleteWe're throwing everything out of our closets, so we have no choice but to go through it fast in order to get the stuff out of our path! It works Trouble is our basement is full too. Ugh!
A bittersweet birthday. Hope the green beans work out!
