GERD and other crap

Far Guy is being released from the hospital today and we will begin the trek back to our home in the woods. He needs to work at getting stronger…which means lots of walking!

I had a procedure called a EGD/EUS or a Esophagogastroduodenscopy with Endoscopic Ultrasound on June 17th.

I have GERD and some stomach ulcers and something on my pancreas...everything was biopsied and we are waiting on those test results.   They found the “something else”on my pancreas quite by accident on the MRI that I had for my back problem.  The Gastroenterologist's impression is that I should have MRI's every three months depending on the biopsy results.  He also said it is possible that my RA has gone nuts and attacked my pancreas.

In the meantime my back problem has been diagnosed yet again ( facet joints and nerves are inflamed)..I am having test injections for a Medial Branch Block in late July and late August...thirty days apart for Medicare purposes. If it works then the real procedure may take place sometime in the Fall.

My Primary Care Doctors thinks I may have some other Autoimmune Disease....and he would not venture a guess as to which one.  I have an appointment with a Neurologist in September and I am on the wait list.

Far Guy took really good care of me.  I am still recovering from the procedure. I was having lots of stomach/pancreas pain.  I could not sleep through that pain.  Everyday gets a bit better but I now have new pain (upper between the shoulder blades pain) that joins my lower back pain.

Biopsy results are taking a really long time.

Finally got biopsy results this week it is a SD IPMN or side duct intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm and I should come back in three months for an MRI or sooner if new symptoms develop.

Clouds in June.

  3. Glad Far Guy is out of the hospital. Sorry you’re having so many health challenges. As my mother says, “getting old is the pits!”. June was a difficult month for our family with numerous tests, hospital stays, surgery, and ER visit. Praying you and Far Guy have good days quickly ahead. RHill, TX

  4. My problems are tiny compared to yours and FG’s. I’m ashamed to admit, health makes me sick. I want to live not continuously be thinking about dying. @#&*!

  6. I am sorry you and Far Guy are having more health issues. Health issues get really complicated as we grow older. Beautiful sky photo. I was out this morning, turned on my Merlin Apps. It heard 10 birds singing or chirping in my yard. This time of year it is the common ones we hear. The Northern House Wren was singing its heart out.

  7. What the heck Connie! You have a lot going on!! Too much. The last diagnosis you mentioned sure is a mouthful. Never heard of it. I hope you both catch a break and feel better. Sooner than later.

My mother always used to say "if they look, they will find something".

  9. EGD is SO much easier to spell, so says this retired surgery nurse who wrote the long version of EGD many, many times on patient records!
    Wishing you well!

    Hugs!

  13. Glad farguy is out of the hospital! It will take more time to recover at home to get stronger.
Who thinks up all these strange words for diseases and health problems? So many tests for you to keep track of too. Ugh
We're going through a lot of these problems too but they really never want to do anything except blood test, and colonoscopy and listen to your heart. ! They're very vague! Anyway I hope that they can help you.
