June is gone!
She left behind a rock and some dirt.
There is a hint of green in the grass now....or maybe it is my imagination.
Seems I have a speeding ticket in North Dakota and my license will be suspended unless I contact the appropriate authorities in the Philippines. Who knew?? They are quite insistent with their text messages.
Why is it that everything you read on and off the internet/phone has to be suspicious of a rip off??
Minnesota weather: High 64F or 18C Low was 33F or 1C.
Far Side
Sometimes I think my grandparents made the best decision to just live out the last years of their lives without the internet even if it made it difficult at times.
ReplyDeleteSo wacky! I wish more scammers were that obvious!
ReplyDeleteI generally don't answer numbers that aren't local but when it looks local, I might answer if there is a medical appointment on the calendar that week. You can tell almost immediately because of background chatter and instead of a smiley hello - - I say, "Who is this and why are you calling?" Then I loudly insist they TAKE ME OFF THEIR CALLING LIST! The rude things will hang up often without saying Good-bye. Then I pray they will find Jesus. Can you imagine doing that job all day? However it is a definite frustration to deal with them.
ReplyDeleteI report them as spam. Maybe it does an ounce of good.
Sometimes I get nothing all day on my landline except spam and fraud opportunities. Wish something could be done about such crooks.
ReplyDeleteI can see it too Connie...tiny green blades!! How exciting. Sorry about the ticket, but I do hope that these are legitimate text. Sam and I both received some similar text about a month ago and it was spam. So many things that we can't really trust these days.. so many scammers as well as so much Spam.
ReplyDeleteGet an address and send them monopoly money.
ReplyDeleteYay for a hint of green!
ReplyDeleteI just dealt with a very authentic message from "Xfinity" that my last payment had been declined. Everything looked very official. It wasn't. I went into my account online and saw that everything was fine. Again, my rule. Never use a link the scammers provide.
Yay!!!! Spring will come, and you will cherish it! Those texts, yup, I better pay up too, as I have unpaid traffic tickets, NOT. :)
ReplyDeleteGolly, it sure is interesting that North Dakota has a traffic ticket bureau in the Phillipines! In my area it turns out we all owe medical bills and if we pay them right this minute by providing our credit card number to the caller, they won't turn us over to collections.
ReplyDeleteJEEESH
That is so early for June to disappear. Dennis and I get those all of the time from the state of Washington. Must be because our phones have that prefix. Spam of course. Never drove a toll road in Washington in the 30+ years we lived there. Ha!
ReplyDeleteBlessings and hugs,
Betsy
I got a speeding ticket too! lol
ReplyDeleteYou are warmer than yesterday. Moving on up.
I hate the spam scammers and I hate the ads on tv equally as much. Lawyers chasing ambulances…Morgan and his family are the worst. Medicines you can ask the dr for, but oh, they may kill you. Gambling…they will give you 30 bucks to get started. I’m wearing out my mute button. Medicare programs! What happened to normal ads like peanut butter, coffee, etc. I think the ads on tv cause dementia😂😂
I just don't answer the phone anymore unless it's my kids. Everyone else can leave a message!
ReplyDeleteI guess no contest this year for when June will disappear. She is gone! I guess NY toll collections go through the Philippines, too. Yes, who knew? I get enough of them, quoting NY law numbers that one day I may look up just to see which laws they are trying to quote to make me pay up. I haven't even been on a NY toll road in ages.
ReplyDeleteWe have become very suspicious folks and for good reasons.
ReplyDeleteGood to know June is gone.
Unfortunately I got speeding tickets from the real guys.
ReplyDeleteYes, I see green. I've gotten several toll fee fines texts when I ain't been anywhere. Scammers!
ReplyDeleteIt is a pain!
ReplyDeleteGoodbye June....see you next year! So, have you been driving in North Dakota AND the Philippines? Hope you get that straightened out or you'll be walking everywhere??? Take good care, you two.
ReplyDeleteHmm - pretty lazy scammers if they didn't hide their location better. I got a similar notice too..
ReplyDeleteMy stuff is a month early also. It's scary this weather. Scary
ReplyDeleteGlad to see June is gone, and miracle of miracles, the storm we were expecting is going to go north of us and we will see little to no accumulation this week, Hooray! Spring is grabbing hold finally.
ReplyDeleteAs for the scammers, the sad thing is that those who set up these schemes make massive amounts of money from them.
