Two more

Two more deaths... do they come in threes or fours?  My Cousin Diana's husband Dan he was 82 years old.  A second cousin also died Dickie a first cousin of my Mothers....his obituary is not out yet but he was also in his 80's.   I sent cards.  We are pretty much funeraled out.

Planning on a quiet weekend.

Today is the last day in February.  Leaping onward into March.

We are thankful that we were able to travel on Wednesday and Thursday because on Friday snow squall warnings were issued...my phone even went off with an emergency alert.

Snow Squall Warning
HAZARD...Flash freeze on roads. Intense bursts of heavy snow. Gusty winds leading to blowing snow and visibility rapidly falling to less than one-quarter mile. Wind gusts greater than 35 mph.
SOURCE...Radar and webcams. IMPACT...Dangerous travel conditions are expected to develop rapidly in the warning area.

  5. They (whoever they is) say that deaths run in three's. Sorry Connie for the losses of family loved ones. I know this was a hard trip for you all not only with the weather, but the emotions as well. Thankful it was a safe trip. Our temps yesterday were in the low 80's... needless to say, the trees are budding out.

  6. We're going to a memorial service this morning. We are in our 80's and so are most of our friends, or older. There will be more of these, unless I go first.

  7. My sympathies on the most recent passings. It does seem that deaths come in groups. My aunt, many years deceased, used to say that more deaths occur ahead of leaves falling in autumn and the leaves coming out in spring. Who knows if there is any truth to that.

  9. So sorry about other family members not being part of the earthly gathering anymore. There should be a large welcoming reception by the time you all get there in a few years.
Glad you made it home before the worst weather. Will March come in like a lion or lamb for you all this year?

  10. Condolences on the recent death of family members. As we age we lose more and more friends and family members. Good thing you avoided the worst of the weather.

  12. I am so glad you weren't out when the warnings were issued, and I'm glad you cold stay home! It sounds like that was a great place to be! I remember my parents bemoaning the deaths of friends. We've lost a few, but it's inevitable that more will come as we all age. My dad's third wife used to say that we weren't born with an expiration date stamped on our butts!

  14. I am so sorry Connie. It does seem to be a bad time for deaths. We've had two funerals in the past week. Friends, not family, but still hard.
    Blessings and hugs,
    Betsy
