Old project

My Mom left me two of her old projects.  I have been carting them around in my embroidery box for almost two years.

Time to BE busy!

Mom made many of these embroidered dish towels...designs were apples, peaches and cherries.  These were stamped but not embroidered...so it was on my list of things to do this Winter.

Minnesota weather: Sunny then partly cloudy and warm!  High was 39F or 4C  the low was 13F or -11C eh!  It was a nice snow melting day!

Far Guy and I went out for lupper after his infusion...and we had bacon, eggs and hash browns:)

  1. How nice, my mother did this too; I had to do it myself when I worked in the craft shop.
Not a tablecloth, but a towel for a towel rack. (I mean this: https://www.retroriek.nl/product/vintage-hollandse-thee-en-handdoek-rek-kleedjes-doek-voor-het-theedoek-rek-mijn-keuken-is-mijn-trots/?srsltid=AfmBOopCZ2N_EqTACzzYH6btmk-0-NqqVEqieIX2ku2biha3NWJiWMOy

  2. Breakfast for supper is a good thing now and then!

  3. We've always enjoyed breakfast for supper. It's comfort food. Our Perkins restaurant in town burned down about 3 years ago, and it's sorely missed. Several local restaurants have stepped up to serve good breakfasts in the mornings. But no one offers it all day. So we make it at home, maybe a couple times a month.

  4. I remember my mother doing these stamped designs. So did Tom's mother. I have embroidered a few also.

  7. Good luck. I really don’t like embroidery. And I wonder why?

  9. Oh gosh, I remember embroidering tea towels like that when I was a teenager. I wasn't particularly good at it. :)
    Breakfast for lupper sounds great!

  15. My late best childhood friend did beautiful embroidery. These project remind me of her work. It's a wonderful thing that you have the skills to finish what your Mom started.

  16. LD....My nieces were required to do some of these as young girls by their mother. She thought it to be a sound training for sure.
