Potholders

We are a potholder/hot pad factory here.  I load the loom and Far Guy weaves, I take them off the loom and start another for him.  It is a great activity for him as he sits in the heat/massage chair.   He is just 14 days post mastectomy surgery so his activity is restricted.  He is still battling a cold.

I like doing the designs.  Some are destined to be Christmas gifts and some headed to flippin happy home decor and more store in Grand Forks ND.

Thursday was a busy day while Far Guy went to his weekly infusion to protect his lungs I picked up a grocery order at Wally World, went to the other grocery store for a few things that Wally World does not stock, filled the car with gas, got a car wash, went to the Post Office and the bank.  After we got home we unpacked groceries had lunch and a long nap for me, Far Guy just rested but didn't sleep.

We had left overs and a salad for supper.

Minnesota weather: High 67F or 19C Low was 40F or 4C.

  2. I made potholders like that as a kid! They were so much fun.
I've been spending half a day purging and cleaning and the other half of the day doing something I like.
There has been two nights of heavy frost in our hollow so most of the gardens are done.

  3. I adore the colors. Fall colors, including purple, are so warming and peaceful. I don't blame you for taking a nap. I've always been the sort to 'save' all of my little stops for one trip into town....and now I find it takes so much more time!

  4. My eldest went on a potholder making binge a number of years ago. We still have a couple of those that we occasionally use.

  5. The colors of the pot holders remind me of fall. It’s good to stay busy. You did a lot yesterday! Whew, I’d be tried. Running around makes me more tired than yard work.

  6. It's really good that FG enjoys doing this. It does make the recovery time pass a little easier.

  7. I remember when we had a metal loom like the one you are using. Each side was separate. We could unscrew the square and change the size or make a rectangle instead of a square. My sister and I had a lot of fun with it.

  18. Great colors on those potholders. Your day sounds a bit like mine yesterday - bank, post office, pharmacy, gas station, and finally groceries. And a brief accidental nap in my chair after all that. LOL
