Our candy is ready...your guess is as good as mine if we will be eating a whole bunch of candy!
Pumpkins at Jen's last year.
Years ago the elderly neighbors would go out for trick or drink...Far Guy and I never were invited...we must have been the party poopers as we only drank sodas or coffee. The elderly never went far...a mile maybe two to get a drink at their friends homes, but sometime they would pick up people as they went.
Thursday was Far Guys usual infusion day. I delivered some Christmas Ornaments while I waited for him. Gravy and Dawn's new home is coming along...it is beautiful! Right now they are fighting sheet rock dust...and waiting for flooring and trim.
It was a rainy Thursday. High was 45F or 7C and it was a frosty morning with a very pink sunrise.
Supper was ribs and my baby brothers maple canned carrots...Yummy!

These are the cutest pumpkins and they all did a great job at carving them. I guess I had better go buy some candy..I have not done this yet. Most of the Trick R' Treaters go to the local churches and do a Trunk R' Treat in the parking lots, so I don't expect to have many come here. We are not party goers either...I prefer staying in and enjoying the peace and quiet..Have a fun Halloween evening..
ReplyDeleteWow, those pumpkins were masterpieces! RHill, TX
ReplyDeleteThe pumpkins look professional. Maybe a few spooks will come.
ReplyDeleteHappy Halloween and All Saints Day after.
ReplyDeleteI haven't done a think for Halloween in ages as we are so remote and for many years, there were no kids in the area.
ReplyDeleteI think all the activity will be in town today so I'll just stay home and do a work day.
We had rain all day on October 30 which was our designated Beggars Night. Luckily for the beggars the rain stopped about 4:30 so they and their protective parents had a good evening. It is fun for me to see them. I remember how much fun I had on Halloween night. We called it
ReplyDeleteTrick or Treating. Our rhyme was "We're the beggars on the street. Please give us something to eat."
We did a round of Drink or Treat one year with some friends. Our teenage children were so embarrassed, which was half the fun! The local community group held an adult costume party every year as a big fund raiser for summer youth programs. We went all out with costumes each year. It was such fun. Now - in a bigger town and different times - we just hand out a ton of candy. LOL
ReplyDeleteHalloween has many different activities for fun.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was young, my mom and her friend Gail would drive us around the countryside (there were 5 of us kids). The adults would often get invited inside for a quick drink, and we'd be sent to walk to the next farm. Usually about a 1/4 to 1/2 mile away...occasionally a little further. One year the drinks were so plentiful, Gail's husband Jack had to come pick all of us up at the last house. :) That was a year when we did not have snow at Halloween.
ReplyDeleteI'm not expecting any trick or treaters, but have been warned there may be a trick or drinker show up. However, the World Series is on tonight so they may forgo the Halloween pranks.
Those were some beautifully carved pumpkins!
ReplyDeleteHappy Halloween! :)
We don't do anything here. Nope, nada.
ReplyDeleteOur first Halloween out here in the boonies, we were surprised to have the neighbours show up at our door for a trick or treat. They repeated on Christmas Eve. My prim and proper British inlaws were here for that one and thought it was quite a hoot. Thankfully we had lots of nice snackie things to offer for round two.
